Dawn of War
I hated being right. In all honesty, I was only surprised that the war hadn’t come sooner. They had probably still been gathering their own forces to combat our attempts, but now that we had numbers gathered together, they had struck at first light. I had the first sense that something was wrong when I picked up the scent of a strange wolf.
I woke Rem and quickly put on the weapon he had gone to the trouble of getting for me. I had very little time to train with it, for which I was sure I would regret, but there was nothing I could have done differently.
Rem gathered his Hunter gear and weapons and left for the front gates to join the others, leaving me to sound the alarm. I transformed swiftly and leaned my head back, letting out a long and loud warning howl which swiftly woke up every Hunter that wasn’t already awake and on patrol.

The scent of blood filled the air as I saw Rem strike down the male wolf that had dared to sneak up behind us and had leapt on my back, biting at my neck to choke me to death. The poor male’s head rolled onto the ground as the blade of Rem’s sword had cut clean through. My eyes widened at the sight. For Rem, this was business as usual, anything to protect his loved ones. Marrok and Lupe agreed to remain with the Hunters and Rem, as a few more Hunters joined them, while I checked on the pack. Worry filled my heart about how the younger pups were handling the attack. As a Luna, it was my role to handle emotional situations as well as protect my pack. Not that Rem wouldn’t try to do so as well, but he was better to handle the fighting than I was.Fortunately, the pack seemed to be doing well, though they were nervous with the smell of the strange pack lingering around the mansion. My fears that the enemy pack was trying to tire us out was becoming more and more real to me. Every time we pushed them back, they would send another, slightly larger group to replace them. The sky-shifters had joined us now, and it was thanks to their surprise attack that the last batch of werewolves retreated to their camp. We might not get that lucky again, as they would have warned the others about our new allies. “We need to bring the fight to them if we can,” I said, looking up at Rem as my ears pinned back against my head. “Even with us taking shifts and our sky-shifter friends joining in, we won’t hold up for too much longer.” “You don’t even know if the pack leaders are even at that camp,” Rem replied, his brows furrowing down in thought and frustration. He was not as tired as his Hunters, but it was unsure how much longer he could keep this up. The pavements were covered in blood and the odd dead wolf. It wasn’t something I had wanted

The scent of burning flesh and blood filled my nose as I sank my teeth into the werewolf’s leg, the silver of the fang-guards instantly reacting to the skin upon contact. I had hoped that if I wounded enough of the legs of these new assailants, they could not return to the fight again so soon. I wouldn’t wound them to the point they couldn’t walk, but it would be enough that they’d be useless in a brawl. I spat the fur out of my mouth and looked about quickly. There weren’t as many losses as I had feared on this group’s part, but they had hurt one hunter, and so things had looked a little tense until at last, the werewolves Lupe had asked to join us arrived. Though things were far from over. Rem and the other Hunter were tending to their fallen friend’s wounds while we held the werewolves back. There were still more of them than us, but we had injured enough of them that we had gained the upper hand for now. I snarled at an approaching werewolf

The time spent fighting the new wave seemed to last a lifetime, but eventually, we drove them off. The waves were getting quicker now as another wave was ready to leave to attack us. If they were picking up speed, then perhaps they thought we were getting weaker? Or perhaps they were hoping to tire us out quickly so that we’d not be able to rest as easily between fights? Whatever their plan was, I was ready for them. As was Rem. I doubted this back knew Rem and I were mates, so they wouldn’t have factored in the whole mind-link situation we had going on. Though I was unsure if they were aware that our pack had merged with the others and become ours. Even if they were aware, I made sure never to show my full hand of how many of my pack members could fight, or how strong or weak they were. Finally, the word from the others reached my mind that it was safe to progress with the next phase of our plan. I was relieved that it had come before this new
Under the Blue Moon The Fields of Blood
Several of my people jumped straight into the fight, while others stay back to protect me. My primary focus is to find the Alpha and Luna if they are here in the camp. I want to bring them down more than I do their followers, but so far, I can’t smell them anywhere near. The field is enormous, however, so not smelling them right away isn’t too strange. With my heightened senses, I listen for anyone talking about them near me or calling for backup with their howls. Nothing so far. I decided I might have to check the camp on foot, but, strangely, the leaders aren’t front and centre. That won’t be easy for me to do right now, but perhaps once Rem and his group have arrived, I may get that chance. For now, I decided to help those of my members who need an extra set of teeth instead. I won’t allow these people to gang up on anyone. I spot someone in trouble right away. I could no longer smell anything other than the blood that had scattered over the surrounding fields. I was breathless from the constant fighting, but far fewer enemy werewolves were now trying to fight back. We had lost a few of our own but compared to them, we had made it out rather well. I felt sorry for those here. None of them had really started this entire war, but all of them had paid some kind of price. Meanwhile, their so-called leaders were still nowhere to be found.With a slight limp, I made my way across the field to where I could find Rem. He had seemed to fair much better than most of us in this fight, but I wasn’t really all that surprised by it. He was a powerful fighter and smart enough to manoeuvre a battlefield. I can feel the gravel shifting under my paws as Rem and I run toward our family. The Hunters are trying their hardest to fend off the Alpha and his pack members, but the enemy outnumbers them. It was strange that this pack would be out this way, as it was nowhere near the direction of the mansion nor the field in which their allies had camped out. Rem doesn’t seem to know the answer to why they would be here either, other than they knew about the exit, but that doesn’t seem too likely.The Ancient Ones following behind us also confirmed that this pack’s thoughts were of a surprise to find the Hunters and werewolves here. So it put the thought that they had known about our plans aside completely now. It was a strange coincidence, and it made me wonder what the real reason was for. What was out this way that would interest this pack, if not the hidden exits for the Hunters?As we grew
