Chapter 8

Sansa's Pov

When time froze for some, their hearts raced faster, and every second felt like a decade, with worry on their minds and 1000 thoughts flying through their heads.

I kept asking myself questions for which I had no answers to calm myself down since my curiosity was unabated and I wanted to know more about the predicament I had found myself in.

The conclusion I came to was that it was not the past, I was certain, I was seeing a dream, my father had never died before, he died on the day I turned 14, the same day my mother died years before.

When an unknown woman was crying and screaming miserably and no one dared to interrupt her, a younger version of my father lay unmoving on the floor.

My eyes welled up with tears, the same emotions I felt when I lost my father for the second time; my broken heart had been wounded by the agony of losing my father so long ago, and now I was facing the death of my father once more. I kept my cool while trying hard not to cry.

Even though it was a dream, I was curious as to why I was in there. What part did I play there? I was trying to find out how I ended up here. How long will the dream be carried on?

"Open your eyes, Raven," the woman's agonizing voice broke my thoughts, and my gaze was drawn to her as she sobbed more loudly.

Grandpa Falkor, who had been directing the gun at both of the ruthless Alphas and was unconscious of my father's condition when his entire attention was on Samuel and Xavier, gazed back at her, shocked.

Grandpa could no longer control his steps because he had been disregarding my father's presence since he arrived.

When he was walking toward my father's dead body, the gun fell to the floor. He was the same, as he always pretended he didn't care for my father and his son.

On the occasion of the funeral, Grandpa Falkor tried not to cry, but he couldn't stand the pain and burst into tears, crying for hours in the rain over his beloved son's grave; he was the saddest person at the funeral because he had lost the most valuable person in his life.

"No, no, no, this can't happen," hurried Grandpa Falkor shouted.

When it came to his son, his heart was about to burst, his eyes were wide open, and he couldn't take a step back. He forgot his hatred and raced over to his son uncontrollably.

In an instant, Xavier leaned down to check on my father, placing his palm on his heart. When Grandpa arrived, he shoved Xavier aside.

"Stay away from my son, you filthy dog," upset Grandpa yelled angrily.

Xavier did not respond, but instead placed his palm on my father's chest as if he was analyzing my father's condition if he was curious about what was going on within his body at the time.

"I said! Get off my son, you jerk!" yelled Grandfather, grabbing his collar and forcing Xavier to stand.

"Don't dare to touch him, I warn you; I will forget what breed you are, and I will kill my enemy and give them a slow death until they beg me to let them die and kill them. They chose death over being alive around me, " aggressive Grandpa Falkor was threatening Xavier without hesitation with his menacing eyes and rage.

Xavier remarked calmly in response to the bleeding hunter's threat. "You are wasting time threatening me when I can use this time to save your son."

"Don't trust him, he is not worthy of trust," the woman advised Grandpa, who was looking upset and perplexed as he saw my father on the floor while still clutching Xavier's collar.

Xavier was slowly withdrawing Falkor's hand from his collar when his grip began to slip. "It's not about trust, it's about the deal we made."

When the woman knew that Hunter Falkor would be dazzled by Xavier's words and become weak, she stood up.

"I don't care about the deals, but I can't let him touch Raven," she screamed angrily, caressing her tummy.

"Nobody wants to regret later," calm Xavier taunted, "so why did you choose the difficult path?"

"I might regret touching Raven with your filthy hands," she teased back.

"You! Stay back, he's my son," an irritated Grandpa Falkor told the woman.

"And he is the father of my child, you can't trust that dog," she exclaimed to Grandpa Falkor.

"Do you believe that only words can work here? All of this has happened because of you; you are the reason my son left me and is now losing his life," angrily Grandpa Falkor yelled.

"How long will you spread hatred? He had no choice but to leave you because you drove him to; your hatred damaged everything; you can't blame me for your actions," she raged.

"You and your baby deserve to be hated; you don't deserve to live, you bit**" He was enraged, and his hatred was clear; if he let his monster awake, he might kill that woman.

"This baby is not mine alone, but your son is the father, so think before you speak because I would not sit back quietly," she was attempting to control her rage.

"Do anything to protect my son," Grandpa Falkor pleaded to Xavier, "I would give you whatever you want for sure, but if my son dies, forget about our deal."

"Don't touch him, I'm warning you," the woman whispered to Xavier as she yanked his hand away from Father Raven.

"I'm not going to eat your husband; I'm just trying to help," angrily Xavier stated.

"Staying away from family matters would be a great help," she raged.

"Family? He is my son, and I will make decisions for him," sarcastically Grandpa Falkor mocked the women with hatred.

"I can't let him be touched by a filthy dog in the name of help," the woman argued as an emotional roller coaster drove her insane.

"Stop calling me a dog!! You don't know who you're dealing with," angry Xavier said, looking into her eyes and trying not to hurt her.

"You focus on the job you're here for, and I'll handle her," upset Grandpa Falkor replied solemnly to Xavier.

When Xavier crouched down to check on my father's dead body, the woman screamed uncontrollably and tried desperately to pull Xavier away from my father, but Grandpa Falkor gripped her hand tight and refused to let her go.

"Stop acting like they're innocent; they look for any opportunity to kill humans; how could you even let him touch your son? You are selfish, you are heartless," the woman replied harshly.

Xavier ripped my father's shirt off. I spotted the same half-moon-shaped pendant around my father's neck, and I felt the same identical pendant around my neck that he gave me on my fifth birthday.

He closed his eyes and placed his hand on his heart, whispering some bizarre phrases.

When I looked back, Samuel was already gone; he had fled since he understood it was not the proper time to fight.

Grandpa Falkor held the woman's hand, preventing her from disturbing Xavier, who was whispering strange phrases and opening his full yellow eyes. That scared me because I had never seen him like that before.

When the lightning struck the sky, my father's body began to quake. The temperature rose by the second, and I began to tremble in the cold.

At the time, the situation was unusual and supernatural; a bolt of lightning struck my father's body, causing him to leap in pain.

"I told you not to trust him!" yelled the woman, "He's causing him pain!"

Grandpa Falkor had not anticipated this level of torment and was still pondering his next action.

"Stop him, he is hurting Raven, and he will kill Raven, please stop him right now," the woman implored Grandpa Falkor, who remained baffled.

Xavier's whispers became louder, and the lightning struck my father's body twice.

My heart became heavy as If that was reality; my emotions were out of control. I screamed uncontrollably as I watched my father tremble in pain. "Stop doing it, I said stop hurting him."

"Can't you see he's torturing Raven?" He is exacting his vengeance on you by injuring your son in front of you," the woman said, completely convincing the merciless hunter after making a good point.

All of the lightning vanished from the dark sky, the environment returned to normal, Xavier's eyes returned to normal irritating and my father remained still on the floor.

The complete stillness was irritating at the time when we were all waiting for Xavier to speak.

Xavier murmured, his face despondent. "I tried my best, but---"

Angry Grandpa Falkor let her go and charged in my direction.

"You cretin!"

Grandpa Falkor's hands were going to grip my neck, which might be for Xavier because I was invisible, when the entire scenario disintegrated to dust in front of my eyes, and all I could see was the silent blackness.
