Chapter 6

Sansa's Pov

"The girl is in a trap, the rat is out to prey," said Grandpa Falkor.

"You have not done well to interrupt my party," Samuel replied angrily to Falkor, going slowly in the middle to show he wasn't reluctant.

"Everyone knows in the underworld I am pretty famous as a party crasher, I think you have forgotten how famous I am in your world, don't be a stranger to me, it hurts," Grandpa Falkor teased with a chuckle while exhaling a cigar smoke from his mouth to show off.

Samuel watched all of his men die on the floor, covered in blood, while attempting to appear brave in front of the savage hunter, all of whom were terrified of him at the time.

"You still have no power to kill me, because the Darkfur pack would not leave you, Falkor, you know how powerful the Darkfur pack is," nasty Samuel remarked.

"I am not here to kill, no, no, I am not in the mood today, I am here to meet you," Grandpa Falkor remarked cheerfully, disregarding my father as if he didn't exist.

Xavier stretched out to me on the left side so close that I couldn't tell if he could see me or not when his gaze was set on mine.

"Today I brought a guest with me, how was my surprise?" Grandpa Falkor asked, chuckling while reloading his revolver with a swag.

"Surprisingly, you're working with the enemy you want to destroy; you've been destroying our kind and families; I'm amazed that Xavier agreed to work with a hunter like you," cruel Samuel expressed his surprise at seeing Falkor and the werewolf Xavier together. He taunted Xavier.

"Why are you even concerned? Merging with the other pack will not make you more powerful, I will hunt you down whenever I want, if you are alive take a breath just because I let you live til now," relaxed Grandpa Falkor stated sarcastically as he threw his cigar aside in style.

"Enemies can't be our friends, humans will try every possible way to hunt our kind down just because they are afraid of us, they are weak and we are letting them stand on the ground, our kind is dying because of them, it's painful to see you stand by their side," cruel Samuel said to Xavier from behind him.

Xavier kept coming in my direction, Samuel anticipating an answer from Xavier who wasn't even listening to him.

"Deals are the only thing that can bring two types together for their benefit; I understand Falkor wanted to get rid of me to protect his son by using you, but what will you get in return? Will you become his stooge? The hunter who is attempting to exterminate our species?" harsh Samuel inquired of Xavier.

I caught my breath as Xavier thrust a knife into my stomach. My eyes popped up, and my heart was rushing faster than it had ever been. He chuckled at me. His eyes were filled with strangeness. I was trembling with fear.

Xavier never missed a chance to make me feel terrified, anxious, and controlled; he used to abuse me and touch my body without my consent, taking joy in my misery. Tortured and humiliated me anytime he pleased.

He was such a liar that he made fun of me in front of everyone when I revealed the truth about our fake marriage. I'd never felt so humiliated as I did that day.

I was alone when everyone laughed at me, thinking I pranked them when Xavier played all the perfect cards and took two shoots with one arrow.

Since the day he claimed me by the law pronouncement of wonder, the Oak pack's tradition that their forefathers established for the benefit of their members.

By claiming me and keeping me within the mansion, he never wedded me and forced me to act as his wife, a mystery I'll never unravel.

Why would someone never marry the bride he claimed by law and force, even though I was not his wife but mistress, he was the man I could never understand. Sometimes he appeared earnest, while other times he appeared to be devoid of soul.

I resolved never to see him again, and I attempted every conceivable way to avoid him, even attempting to murder him multiple times.

Yes, I dared to murder the cruelest, most sadistic Alpha who had claimed me and forced me to be his slave against my choice. But he was never aware that I was the source of his most severe wounds. I was the prisoner who gradually became his puppet as time went on.

I was losing myself, forgetting myself day by day, while yet trying desperately to escape the terrible mansion.

That traumatic night in the chili forest, as Xavier stood in front of my eyes, all the flashes and his aggressive behavior flashed through my head, and my wounded heart became new once more.

"Who's going to save you now?" In his charming voice, Xavier said.

I switched my gaze downward and saw his knife slice through me on the tree without even harming me. He then thrust his knife through me again, this time deep into the tree.

For a split second, I forgot I was in an illusion, a dream, or that I was still in the past.

"You know how manipulative the bloody hunter is, he is using you, and you will regret it, humans can't be our friends, I'm telling you," cruel Samuel mocked Xavier.

"Today is not his day, but yours," Xavier stated solemnly, thrusting the dagger deeper into the tree.

"You believe that being by a hunter's side will allow you to kill me; that is a false assumption; you are living in a sweet fantasy, Xavier; being an enemy of the Darkfur will cost you your life; have you forgotten what I did last time?" Xavier was threatened by harsh Samuel.

Xavier dashed over to Samuel and grasped his neck with his right hand in rage.

"That's why I'm here; I don't forget to collect debts," explained Xavier.

"With so many enemies, who are you going to make friends with? You and your pack will be alone forever, Alpha Xavier, nobody will ever be by your side," cruel Samuel mocked with his broken voice.

"I don't need friends like enemies, I am better off alone, and the Oak pack is stronger than you can even imagine," replied Xavier, putting more pressure on his neck.

"Why don't you kill me now and see what happens to the Oak pack?" nasty Samuel said.

"Do you think I'd let Oak Pack suffer?" "I am Alpha Xavier, the alpha of the Oak pack," mocked Xavier.

"You were just a temporary replacement, not the rightful king to the throne," nasty Samuel mocked.

"I wonder who would be a replacement for yours, and I hope that after you, Darkfur might select the right heir to the throne," harsh Xavier fought to keep his rage in check.

"Every Alpha should believe that he is strong enough to protect the pack, and as an Alpha, I challenge Darkfur to pack to destroy the Oak pack and take all the Oak females for pleasure," harsh Samuel tried to laugh, but the anguish was too much for him.

"Shut up!" yelled an enraged Xavier.

"Poor Garrison, how much he tried to protect his pack, but ----" nasty Samuel murmured.

When he felt agony in Samuel's neck, Xavier held it tighter but kept his cry within so he didn't appear reluctant.

"Xavier!!"

"Don't be blinded by vengeance, and don't forget the deal we made," serious Grandpa Falkor remarked to Xavier.

Grandpa Falkor remained hesitant as Xavier refused to let Samuel go while attempting desperately to stop breathing.

I was curious about the arrangement Grandpa Falkor struck with Xavier. How they came to agree to collaborate when humans and werewolves were adversaries? What kind of benefit was Xavier searching for? I was perplexed.

"Xavier!" When Xavier turned his face away from him, Grandpa Falkor shouted angrily, "I am warning you," and pointed the revolver at him.

"This is not why you came here," Hunter Falkor said to Xavier.

"I am not your servant," angry Xavier remarked to the ferocious hunter Falkor, who everyone regarded with suspicion. The need for vengeance blinded Xavier.

Xavier and Samuel began kicking, scratching one other's skin, and hitting each other mercilessly. Grandpa Falkor was pointing the rifle at them, his gaze locked on them.

I dashed up to my father, who was seated close to the woman who was screaming inside because she was in pain.

"You're going to be fine," Father Raven replied to the woman, heavy breathing.

The woman cried softly as she watched my father, who was covered in blood and couldn't sit correctly or breathe; he was near death but still worried about the pregnant woman.

"Please, don't leave me," the woman begged, knowing what was going to happen. Father took her hand in his.

"I'm sorry, I love you," sadly Father Raven murmured to the woman as tears streamed down his cheeks and he felt bad for not defending her from harsh Samuel.

My father finally gave up, closed his eyes, and dropped his hand to the ground, as if his soul had left his body.

"Raven!!!!"

Chapter 72 The figure emerged from the shadows, acquiring shape gradually in the soft moonlight. I breathed a sigh of relief as the mysterious presence solidified. It was Levine, his face solemn and sad. My stress dissipated when I recognized him. I couldn't help but smile. "You know Xavier married Marina," I said Levine, a smile on my lips. His response was regretful, and his voice was heavy with disappointment. "Are you truly content?" Levine queried, his face betraying his anguish."Of course," I said firmly, my excitement obvious. "Finally, he has Marina by his side, the one he loves, and—"Levine spoke before I could finish, his words cutting through my excitement. "You should not be happy about it. Xavier didn't marry Marina to get away from you. He did it to keep you close, to keep you close to him forever.""What exactly do you mean?" I inquired, my perplexity growing.Levine disclosed a shocking reality to me.

"What are you doing here?"As we all watched the unimaginable unfold in front of us, the crowd began to murmur in a mixture of fascination and shock."I never send my guests away empty-handed, and I always offer them with enough amusement to remember for a lifetime," said Xavier with a sly grin to the Unknown Pack Leader.Members of the unknown group began brandishing their firearms and knives, bracing themselves for a fight.Levine, still stunned, turned to Xavier for answers. "What on earth is going on, Xavier?""I invited them here," said Xavier quietly. "They've come to pay the price for causing you pain."Levine's attention switched to me, his eyes inquisitive. Chapter 70 As he continued to treat my wound, Xavier's fingers moved gently. "However, it is sometimes at these unexpected moments that we discover something wonderful."My cheeks flushed, and I averted my gaze, trying to disguise my emotions. "You're a philosopher, aren't you?"He leaned in closer, his words low and heartfelt. "Only when I'm with someone who changes my perspective on the world."When our gazes locked, the world around us seemed to fade away. The unpleasantness of the circumstance had evolved into a common understanding. He was different from the Xavier I knew in the present; he was kind, and he treated me properly although Xavier never treated me well in the present, not once.Xavier's words poured over me like a calm ocean wind, drawing me closer with each word. His eyes, as deep and tempting as the great sea, enslaved me. Frozen in a moment, the world around us seemed to melt away."Perhaps you're he

Chapter 68 Xavier, the calm voice amid the turmoil, interrupted. "Gentlemen, we must find a solution to close these mistrust and resentment gaps."Anthony, evidently irritated, fired back at Falkor. "Despite spending years hiding in the shadows, you appear remarkably self-assured, Falkor."Falkor, unfazed by Anthony's insults, reacted with a smug grin. "But, my darling vampire, the shadows frequently hold the most valuable secrets."The chamber became tenser with each exchange, weighted with hostility and the weight of history. Xavier's patience remained steadfast, a credit to his leadership. "Enough of this, you two. We are up against a shared foe who threatens us all. Isn't it time to set aside old grudges for the greater good?"Anthony's rage, a boiling tempest within, found expression in a final, cutting sentence.
