Disrupted peace

It was time to have breakfast and as usual, the Gotham family gathered in the dining room. Ignorant about what was happening, they began to eat. However, the peace of the environment was disrupted as soon as they started to have their food. At first, it was the sound of footsteps. Frank and his father realised that something was not right. Nevertheless, they weren't able to react before five masked intruders who were completely dressed in black, rushed into the dining room. 

"Freeze!" 

They were taken by surprise when the armed men who were covering their faces swarmed into the dining area. Stunned, Jennifer gaped at them, wide-eyed. Involuntarily, she grabbed onto Frank's arm as her heart thudded hysterically.
