"Why don't you take Jennifer with you to meet our stakeholders?" Frank's father suggested, breaking the silence at the dinner table.
Jennifer almost choked on her food. Yet, she managed to compose herself soon enough. Frank's eye darted from her to his father. Though his face showed no expression, he was feeling anxious about taking her to meet his allies. He knew Jennifer didn't approve of his lifestyle, and that was the only reason why he hesitated to flirt with her.
"If she is to be the next Mafia Queen, she must meet them. I believe her wound has healed by now," his father added. The older man had his eyes fixed on his son and Jennifer, carefully examining any changes in their response.
