Road tripI woke up earlier than I had expected and went to get my windows open, the birds were chirping and flying high in the sky. It was a bright day and I hope the day was going to be a good one you, I went into my bathroom to get cleaned up do I can go wake Avery, I forgot to tell her to be up early today cause we had to go somewhere really far. I brushed my teeth and climbed into the shower letting the water best at my skin, I applied dome shampoo on my hair and gel on my skin, scrubbing for a few minutes and when I was satisfied I rinsed. I grabbed towel on the rack and dried myself, getting out of the bathroom I heard a loud crash and the sound of broken glass getting shattered on the floor. I couldn’t tell where the noise came from but I did the best I could to get dressed and go check out where the noise was coming from. I threat on one of my shirts and a pair of dark dress pants, spraying a bit of my favorite cologne, and left my room, my first instinct was to check the li
Untold She placed the candles in a circle around us as she sat back on the floor with us, I didn’t have to be part of it but I couldn’t leave Avery to herself I was the closest thing she had as support. I was in the circle I would be protected from whatever it was lurking n the shadows, sheina asked Avery for her hand once again which she gave. She began chanting those words again under her breath and the glasses on the chandelier started to rattle, the cutleries in the kitchen started to levitate and slowly the candles too except the ones surrounding us in the circle. A sharp wind blew across the room carrying a lot of just with it and setting the levitating candles off, once again only the ones surrounding us in the circle were still lit. The events didn’t seem to phase Sheina nor Avery but Karl whose eyes were open throughout the enchantment, the spell casting went on for a while Sheina’s eyes switched colours a couple of times until finally landed back to their normal shade. Avery’s POV; I found myself wandering deep into the woods my mind wasn’t even mine anymore it was crowded with so much but somehow I happened to know nothing. The words of the witch Karl took me to kept replaying in my head, I was so deep in my thoughts that I didn’t realize how far into the Woods I’d gotten, it was then I started to hear the owls and the crickets in the dark. The unseen creatures of the night come out to embrace their habitat, I tucked in a breath to try and listen with my wolf ears to see if I could somehow use my senses to bring her back, I focused on the wind as it blew on the trees, the sound of the crickets chirping and playing their familiar song that has been played over generations of their species. It wasn’t loud and explicit but it was enough until I heard a branch snap, every time I heard that noise I knew what came after it and me running from it right now was a very bad idea. So instead of running I stood and waited for him to emerge from behind the
It was a rainy night and Flavin had snuck out to see Roland so she could tell him about Avery and Karl and what they’d been up to, everyone was in their quarters and rooms and it was raining cats and dogs outside, just about the right time to sneak out. She tiptoed down the stairs and through the back door, she changed into her wolf form and dived into the rain, running in the direction of the woods. She stopped in front of a cave which served as shelter to her just a few yards past the border, but Roland had already beat her to it. He was in the cave before she even got there, she switched back into her human form and put on the clothes she had brought along on. “You’re late Flavin? Or do you want me to come down there and be getting you myself “ he said from behind her, where he had been waiting in the shadows, causing her to jump slightly. “How long have you been there?” she gasped.“Are you sure that’s the right question you want to know the answer to right now”“Never mind forg
Avery rolled her eyes at how bossy he was being so early in the morning, he walked in and sat on the single chair that was in the room, Avery followed closed the door and went back to her bed. “You’re still in your pyjamas?”“Is there a problem?”“And you are aware it’s almost midday?”“So what?” “I see you don’t have plans on leaving your room today”“Yes, yes I don’t, who knows I might step outside and get myself killed”.“Avery c’mon don’t tell me you’re letting yesterday get to you”“I shouldn’t? Karl sorry alpha Karl. Shouldn’t I let it get to me? Didn’t you hear what that lady said? Or whatever she was” “I did, I know she said she couldn’t see the entire truth but at least we learnt something didn’t we? I don’t think we shouldn’t sit down and sulk on it, do you?”“I don’t know, I mean I couldn’t sleep at all last night, why are they even after me in the first place? I mean if I was an important person, shouldn’t there have been a good reason for them to have done this to me?”
"I don't have that time of day to begin a fight with you Karl, what do you want?" Avery asked him without looking at his face. She was tired and rained and had to turn from one end of the bed to the other just so she could find answers to her questions was enough to exhaust her."Wow, seems you got up on the wrong foot of the bed now did you?" Karl shot back and she gave him a bloodshot sight in her eyes.To her, she thought this might just be a scary face to help this man shush but he wasn't shushing anytime soon he was bent on talking and not saying exactly why he was in her room at this hour of the morning the dark clouds had not even been wide opened yet and also people could thing a lot of things just had to see him leave her room when the bright clouds are finally shown."I've got some news," he said to her and he expected to get a reaction but Avery was funny when either was not in her mood or she was simply just being a grumpy beautiful lady today."What seems to be the news?"
Council meetingAfter having come back from his run and Avery was in the kitchen with the maids they were making a late lunch. When Karl entered everyone had to bow in respect to greet Avery, she couldn't disrespect him in front of the other workers."Avery can I talk to you for a minute!" he asked and she followed him while he entered his room."I am here now and about this morning I am sorry for how I talked to you I was.." she was cut short before she could finish her sentence."That is okay besides you said what was right, I am the Alpha and if I want to make things right I have got to make them right," he said.Avery nodded her head and then turned to find that he had taken off his shirt she started for a while but shifted her gaze to whichever part of the room she could and Karl could smell her arousal just beginning but she was a clever one because she coughed and then went onto the door."When you get don't with your bath you can call me," she said making to leave but he stopp
Karl's POVI was nervous as fuck as I walked into the meeting room and everyone arose to greet me, I halted their asses as I told them to get straight to the point."We have news that your mate and betrothed have run away " one of the elders spoke."Well if I were her I would run too, I couldn't be married to someone I have never seen" I replied with bitterness lacing my tone. They all sat quietly for a while before they picked up from where they had stopped. That was more like it.Before coming here I had tried to find Avery because I had the intention of showing her to the council as my chosen mate but I didn't see her."Well as tradition demands we would have to choose a new Bethrot3d for you" another grey-haired man spoke and I looked at him so intensely I was sure he shat his pants from my intense gaze."What if I said I wanted to choose my mate myself?" I asked them all who sat there looking like hungry wolves."That was never the plan Alpha Karl and it has never happened in the
