Ruan must have been very upset to look for Chloe and want an explanation about Megan. She rolled her eyes as soon as she heard him ask that, and a smile crossed her lips.

She needed a moment to calm down and finally say sincerely, even though he would not believe it:

“Is that what she told you?” Another smile, so sincere, showing how calm she was. “If you believe everything she says, why are you looking for me to know the truth?”

“I am here to hear your version,” Ruan sighed, impatient. “Her knees were scraped, and she had scratches on her face, Chloe. What did you want me to think?”
