Iris's POVI have been sitting at my father's bedside for hours in a daze. I could only hear the sound of the monitor continuously beeping in the room. My mind was in turmoil thinking of what could happen if that monitor would flat line and stop beeping. Could that be worse than what is already going on? Iris's POV After a few minutes of overthinking, I decided it was time to face the music. I went inside my father's room and I pretended I didn't just eavesdrop on his conversation with Mr Harrison. Julian's POV I called Meghan to the penthouse. It's our meet-up place AKA love nest. This is our space where no one disturbs us. I bought it a few months after we started dating because my father could respect my house. He just comes barging in there any time he likes. So the penthouse was a sweet solution. Iris's POV It's been a few gruesome days since the day my Dad asked me to get married to Julian Harrison. I agreed but for now, that was the least of my concerns. My father got heart surgery and it was the most nail-biting day of my life. I was worried about him. Even though the doctor had assured me that the procedure would be done quickly and it was not risky, I couldn't help but worry. You never know when things can go wrong. After waiting, my father's surgery went well and he was moved back into his ward. All that was left was for him to recover and get a clean bill of health. The worst was over but this we're far from over. We received notice that everything has been repossessed and we will need to move out of our house. It was a sad moment once again. Iris's POV It's been a week since that day. We packed all of our belongings and said goodbye to the mansion that had been our home for over 20 years. It was hard and sad and I had to pull my sobbing mother out of the house. She unfortunately cried her eyes out all the way to the ancestral mansion. And when we got there she refused to go inside for over an hour before it started pouring. Then she had no choice but to face her fears and come inside. I don't mean to make fun of my mother but she was hilarious. My mother was really spooked out. She would jump and shriek at any sound made in the house. I was just grateful that we had cleaners come clean the place or else it would have been a job that neither of us was up for. A few days after, my father was discharged and we brought him back to the mansion. When he got here, he got emotional. He started rambling about how he failed his father and how was sorry he had to come back home as a failure. I couldn't help but feel emotional too
