I woke up the next morning ready to go back to in person classes. When I got to class no one gave me side looks or whispered my name to one another. I sat toward the front again just in case Luke showed up. This time he did come. He stopped at the doorway staring at me for a long while before coming in and taking a seat in the back. I could feel his eyes on me throughout class, but I tried hard to pay him no mind. I kept focused on the professor and our lecture. I bolted out of there the moment the professor said we could leave. I refused to let Luke try to talk to me or corner me somewhere. Charles wasn't happy when I told him Luke was in class today. "Can't you finish that class online? I am sure Dr Garvey wouldn't mind." The man looked so much like my father that I almost ran into his arms. He had short spiky brown hair like him and light blue eyes. His cheeks had freckles sprawled throughout just as my father and I do. Unlike my father he had a longer, sharper nose and a strong jaw line. A few wrinkles lined his face. He looked at me a bit confused trying to place my face. "I'm sorry. I must have the wrong apartment." He said stepping back and looking at the door number again. He wrinkled his eyebrows before he began to walk away. I shook the shock off my face. "Wait" I called after him. "Who are you looking for?" He turned taking a few steps back. "Star. Star Sweetflower" my chest tighten as i realized that Charles and Star had been living together. "She's not here now, but she's on her way. You're welcome to wait for her here. My mind was still presently thinking of Evandrus. Of the odd feeling he left behind. Although he seems friendly, I didn't feel like I could trust him. Something about him had Heli and I on edge. "Well that was unexpected," Star said, turning her attention to me. "I am sorry I didn't know he was coming." "It's fine." I waved it away. "What was it you wanted to talk with me about?" "Oh yes. It's about your elf magic mixed with your werewolf's." She started pulling paper out in front of her.again. I pictured her staying up late at the library looking through scrolls and books. "There aren't many books on the matter as Elves and wolves don't usually mate. It is rare to be mated to another supernatural species." "That makes sense." I took a seat at the table beside her. "Well according to this book when a wolf and elf mate their children are able to take the magic from both parents or from none. As in, you could end up being a normal human even though you have two supernatural parents.

Star had spent most of the afternoon teaching me elf magic. She did her best given my limited knowledge of elf ways. She taught me a lot of magic history and tried her best at explaining how it worked. I understood everything she taught me, however, I wasn't able to put much of it into practice. I had never tried to do magic before. I wanted Star to teach me how to see into the past, but she wasn't sure on how to do that. Since she wasn't a chosen one she didn't know what had to be done to see the visions. She explained she was the book keeper of the tree. Logging new elves and their abilities as they appeared on the tree, but that it did not make her a chosen one. She did tell me that there was an elder that was a chosen one back in her woods. She offered for me to come with her during Labor day weekend. I was going to visit my mother, but I decided that I'd visit her this weekend instead. Star left when I realized what time it was. I had to get to the evening Lab with Dr. Gates.

I closed my eyes, focusing on Charles' skin beneath my hands, and on his heavenly scent. I focused so much on him and on this moment. I pushed every other thought out of my head, trying to enjoy this magical place with him. I opened my eyes to find Charles gone. I was still in the pool but the sun was up now. It's ray's reflected off the water brightly. I looked around confused. Had I fallen asleep? Did Charles leave me? I scanned the forest until my eyes landed on a large black wolf. The sun showed those blue and purple hues so well. I recognized the wolf as our eyes met. "Gunner?" I asked, as I climbed out of the pool towards him. 'Rain?' he questioned back, noticing me for the first time. 'You did it!' He jumped with excitement. I realized what he meant, I ventured inside Charles into his wolf. I smiled back at Gunner. Charles' P.O.V. I was still pissed at Gunner for what he did. I told him to wait. We needed to wait. She can't be claimed yet. Especially not after what we found out. Gunner being Gunner threw caution to the window and did what he wanted. I couldn't give her what she wanted and it was killing me. It was killing her. I hated to see the hurt I was causing her. I could tell she was holding back tears when I let her go. My insides were turning with guilt and worry. I shouldn't have let her go. What the f*ck was I thinking. 'Go get her' Gunner chimed in at my thought. 'I'm still pissed at you. This is your fault.' I scolded him as I headed down the same path Rain took. My heart suddenly began to race as if my life was in danger. The pit in my stomach twisted and my body chilled all over. 'They are in danger!' Gunner yelled inside me. I stood there deep in thought. Replaying the last moment I saw Rain. Her eyes were so hurt. I hated myself for causing her pain, but I couldn't claim her yet. I want her, I really do, but I can't have her yet. For her own good, I have to wait. Nate approached me as I was deep in thought. He seemed to have made all the phone calls he could. "I've reached out to all my black market people. No one has heard anything about a young female werewolf. At least she's not there." Nate's eyes looked dark and I knew why. The black market is a very scary place full of evil and darkness. Knowing that she at least isn't there has helped us all a little. "Good. Thank you for checking." Rain's P.O.V. How could I let myself get kidnapped? Kidnapped by some scary a*s vampires none the less. The group that took me seemed older, and really experienced. They had subdued me without a problem and carried my limp body all the way here, wherever here was. I assume it's a ways away from the college. I couldn't tell what time it was outside as it was pitch black in herr. My eyes had adjusted to the dark, but I didn't like it one bit. I didn't understand what they wanted from me, and they refused to acknowledge my existence anytime I tried to speak to them. I had tried being annoying, to get them to talk to me, but they remained stoic. Nothing seemed to faze them. I had given up about an hour ago. I sat on the floor shackled against the hard rock wall. Where the hell was I? I wanted to curse myself for being so careless. I couldn't talk to Heli through the silver they used on me. It was weakening us both.
