Charlene always prioritized her husband and daughter, leading a modest existence focused on her career and family. She spent the majority of the living allowance because of this. For their father-daughter activities, Thorne supported her. She shouldn't have had much money in her bank account by then, considering this situation. However, Jasmine's chances to indulge in them had drastically decreased because she had spent the most of the previous year living with Thorne in Goldland. Surprisingly, her account still had almost $30 million by then.

This amount was a drop in the ocean to Thorne, but a significant quantity to Charlene. Recognizing it as hers, Charlene didn't hesitate to transfer the money to her account. Without turning around, she pulled her luggage, leaving two cards behind. She occupied a modest, comfortable apartment just over a thousand square feet from her business. The flat had been vacant since she purchased it four years ago to assist a friend who had moved out. In the end, it was helpful. The flat needed little work to make it livable because it was regularly cleaned even though it was vacant. Around ten o'clock at night, Charlene nestled in after a long day.

She was startled awake by the startling alarm. "Ring, ring, ring—" Disoriented and groggy, it took her a moment to remember that it was 1 a.m. her time, but over in Goldland, where Thorne and Jasmine are, it was breakfast time. were; the hour had passed 7 a.m. Charlene had made it a point to contact Jasmine at this hour ever since she and Thorne had relocated to Goldland. Jasmine had initially found the change difficult and missed Charlene a lot, wanting to call all the time. However, as time went on, Jasmine's desire evolved into impatience and apathy. Charlene couldn't help but smile bitterly as she realized the alarm was no longer useful but was unwilling to let it go.

She hesitated, then turned off her phone, erased the alert, and went back to sleep. Jasmine and Thorne were nearly done with their brunch in the meantime. Thorne didn't always prioritize being home for Charlene's daily calls, but he was aware of them and didn't give it much thought. After breakfast, he walked upstairs to change after realizing Charlene hadn't phoned. Jasmine was reluctant to talk on the phone because she thought Charlene was getting naggy. She assumed Charlene must have been delayed since her mother had not called. Her eyes gleamed mischievously as she snatched up her backpack and ran to the door.
