Chapter 4: Celebration

"Will you stop?" I stopped my mind because of where it was going. It's just a simple concern of the boss, I'm assuming again. I sighed, then I put my phone down so I could concentrate when suddenly someone texted again.

My heart was thumping as I took it up, and my first assumption was that the boss was texting once more.

Time to celebrate, Maddie! You’re no longer unemployed! Even if it's just a case of beer and then a man. I know you waited this long, so let's enjoy the night. Come and see me here. We must celebrate! Come, let's go to our hideout.

Reading the message from my one and only friend made me pause. I should leave now that my supervisor is away and my work is done. But, I am considering not bringing her to our secret location because I don't have enough money.

I move quickly because I think she is impatient. As I was moving, I spotted a really attractive and seductive woman seated on a sofa next to the waiting room. It quite impressed me. She has long golden hair that compliments her height.

"Shhhh! What are you looking at there?" My friend surprised me.

"What are you? You're going to kill me with what you're doing!"

"Was there a naked man there that you couldn't take your eyes off of?" Tiff teased me.

I showed her the gorgeous female, "Don't you see that beautiful girl? You're really insane; you're just being ridiculous!"

She's usually here, so to us, it looks normal. That lustful girl. Well, okay.

Do those who labor not fall under the category of "What do you mean?"

Did you realize that our wage for a month is her salary for just one day? She is always here, but her work is different.

My thoughts worked swiftly as my eyes expanded. Incredible, if our monthly salary of $50,000 is only her daily wage!

"Wow!"

She chuckles and says, "Maybe you also want me to look for you if you enjoy her job."

"Why don't you? Who would refuse such an offer? I'm practically desperate to get a job; I would seize that immediately," she said.

She chuckled louder still. You are unquestionably a failure at pleasing men, so the question is, do you know how to do it?

"Huh? What do you mean?" I tapped her on the shoulder to say yes.

She teased me, "Don't know, I know you won't comprehend, you know nothing about it. Let's go to our hideout, and I might run out of men there.”

I pleaded her, "Friend, can we just go to the ice cream shop since I don't have any money."

She even smirked at me like she was playing a joke, "You know friend, I know you don't have money, so why not borrow my income this month and pay later."

But you're right. I suppose we should head to the ice cream shop first so we can chill off before visiting the heated scenes.

She pushed me while acting genuinely ecstatic. She enjoys going there a lot, unlike me, who is constantly serious and preoccupied with finding a job to support himself in life. Even when she is struggling, she can still chuckle. She genuinely fights through any challenges she faces. I wish I could be like that, but I cannot do so because of the weakness of my heart.

Tiff remarked, "Let's sit outside so we can see if there's a lovely man passing by," and she entered the ice cream parlor to place her order.

I still find it hard to comprehend that I work and that my employer is well-known around the city. I should not blow this chance. I must put a lot of effort into this.

Tiff congratulated him cheerfully while holding the ice cream.

"Thank you, Tiff." I have a sweet smile on my lips.

"See? I told you there's no hard trying. Never underestimate yourself. Again, congratulations! You did it!" Tiff said so proudly as she licked the ice cream cone she was holding.

"Thank you very much, Tiff, for forcing me to apply. I didn't expect I would get it." I thank her so much.

"It’s okay. "Let's hurry and go to our old hideout."

She is referring to a location close to our workplace. We went there and drank, sobbed, and yelled when Tiff's ex-boyfriend discovered her with another female. The best part of that is that even if you scream there, they won't be able to hear you because of how loud the sounds are. When we went there to forget him after a week, she could deal even though she had been distraught.

That's where I really admire her—she can easily move on no matter how serious the problem is.

"Let's go!"

Midtown Bar

"Do you have a reservation, ma'am? " the waiter smiled while asking Tiff.

"Yes, not at the old place. You know, it's time to upgrade." Tiff winked at the waiter.

I looked around. The place totally improved and sophisticated, elegant, and expensive. It has a formal atmosphere, and the dim ambient lighting creates a relaxing mood and aura. They painted the interiors and walls in light shades combined with a little lighting of warm colors, such as shades of red, brown, and orange.

It amazed me at the place; it expanded even more inside. In the very center are several large circular tables. The space is far from the table on the side, where only two people can sit. I looked up at the minibar at the end.

"Tiff, it’s okay that we just go where we always sit before."

"What do you mean we're going to celebrate and we won't use up the 50,000 if we're just there? Of course, let's enjoy the night! Sky's the limit, because let's celebrate to the max."

It shocked me, thinking if she was really serious that we would spend her entire salary just because I got hired now,

Echo led us to one of the VIP rooms next to the bar area. Then Echo left us outside the door. When I opened it, the round table in the middle appeared to me. In the center of the ceiling is a beautiful and large chandelier.

"You're 30 minutes late." Said the man with a baritone voice.

I almost leapt in surprise since I failed to see him lounging against the door and crossing both of his arms over his chest.
