“Aurora?”

Moira called out when she came back to her room and couldn’t find or smell her daughter. Her belongings were still in the room, even her phone; calling her was impossible.

Moira panicked a bit; her daughter, amid werewolves, was unsettling for her, but she had allowed Aurora to come over because she thought she could protect her…at least. But now, she couldn’t find her daughter, and fear began to creep in.

“Where could she be?”  No one in the house except her, the compound guard, and the assigned maid who led Aurora knew that her daughter was coming over to the mansion.

Moira couldn’t go around to start asking about her daughter’s whereabouts, even if she wanted to; Aurora’s visit isn’t something the entire family expected, and it could be dire for Moira.

Just as Moira stood still, trying to figure out what to do next, she perceived a familiar and powerful smell; the Alpha had returned from his meeting with the council. This was trouble.

“Call me Luke and Moira, and get me a glass of orange juice,” Brynn said, waving off a servant who had helped him carry his bag into the study room.

“Yes, master.”

Moira, on getting the message that she was called by the alpha, felt her heart beat faster.

Did he already know? She thought to herself, at the same time, it was deadly to keep the alpha waiting. She put herself in order because showing fear before the alpha would be dangerous for her, as he could smell her fear.

Moira walked in on Luke reporting an intruder to Brynn. She composed herself as she stepped into the study room and stood by the side of Brynn. Knowing how it was a dangerous act to interrupt the alpha’s discussion, she patiently waited with her head bowed, daring not to meet the alpha’s eyes.

“Have you found out what the intruder was doing in the young master’s bedroom?” Brynn drank from his glass, dropped it on the table, rested back on his sofa, and closed his eyes. His glasses were on the table; seeing him in this position meant that he had a long day and was unwinding.

“Not yet, master,” Luke answered, his eyes not meeting Brynn’s. “The young master asked to let her have fun in the prison, after she made threats.”

‘She?’ Moira thought to herself, it couldn’t be her daughter, right?

“Threats?” Brynn asked, his eyes slightly opened, but his expression remained unhinged.

“Yes, master.”

Brynn took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He didn’t want to make decisions in the presence of Moira because, as an omega that she was, she wasn’t supposed to be involved in the decision-making of the pack in any way. Her obligations remained only to follow orders and nothing more.

“Prepare an early dinner, Moira, I don’t think I can wait for the usual time today,” Brynn said,

“Yes, master,” Moira answered. She was about to go, but she couldn’t. Her daughter was still missing, and she needed to know where she was.

“Is there something I can help you with?” Brynn’s eyes still closed, Luke turned his eyes to Moira.

“Yes, master,” She knelt immediately, bowed, so that her hands were stretched forward on the floor, and her forehead touched the glittering floor.

“My daughter came to visit me, master. Please forgive my misdeed. I am nothing but a mother, desperate to behold the face of the child she had not seen for years. I let my desperation get the best of me, and I plead for your forgiveness.”

“And?” Brynn asked, unhinged.

“I had left her in my room before leaving, but when I came back, she was nowhere to be found, master.” Her head was still pressed on the well-polished floor of the study room, sweating profusely as the alpha could be dangerously unpredictable, and her fate seemed to be dire.

Brynn took another breath and stretched his hand, and Luke handed Brynn the iPad he held. The iPad was connected to all the CCTVs in the mansion.

Brynn opened his eyes as soon as the iPad touched his hand. He gently scrolled and touched the screen. “Blue jeans, white shirt, dark brown hair, is she the one?”

“Yes. Yes, master. She is my child.” Moira shivered; she was in for it big time, but her daughter mattered to her more.

After what felt like an eternity to her, Brynn finally spoke, “This is no way to treat family, Luke.” He handed the iPad back to Luke. “Get her out of there immediately and bring her back to her mother.”

“Yes, master.” Luke bowed and rushed out of the study room.

Moira, still in her position, couldn’t believe her ears. The alpha wasn’t rash towards her; he called her daughter family. Or does he have a dangerous plan in mind, and this was just a decoy?

She stayed there, sweating uncontrollably, not knowing what to believe as different thoughts crossed her mind. She felt that he had sat up this time rather than resting on his chair like he initially did.

“This is the first time your daughter has come to visit, and she’s taken to the mansion’s prison,” Brynn said, sounding disappointed, but still with a dreadful tone. “That’s not nice, Moira.”

“Forgive me, master,” her voice shook, “I was scared and desperate all at once, please forgive my stupidity.” Sweat trickled down her face as she was still on the floor, her forehead and hands touching the shining floor.

“Let her join the family for dinner.” He spoke; his voice was strong, and the sound alone commanded respect.

Moira, shocked and surprised all at once, “What?” She lifted her head but still didn’t dare to meet Brynn’s eyes.

“She should join us for dinner,” He said, “I would like to do a proper introduction to the family, obviously, you aren’t good with that. Also, I would love to get to know her.”

Moira was quiet.

“Or you don’t want any of that?”

“I never said so, master. Although I am her mother, I will never forget that she is alive today only because of you.” She went back to pressing her forehead on the floor. “Thank you, master, for your priceless kindness, and if this is your will, then it shall be done.”

“Thank you, now off you go.”

Aurora was escorted back to her mother’s room, and her bold and fearless demeanor seemed to disappear when she saw her mother standing in her room, waiting for her return.“Mother!” she called out, running into her mother’s longing arms,“My dear child, I’m so sorry for this.” Moira hugged her daughter not too tightly. She missed her daughter, but she wasn’t ready to squeeze the life out of her with her superhuman strength either. “I was so scared, Aurora.”She pulled back a little to stare into her daughter’s eyes, “And I know that you must have been scared to death in there.”“Not really, but when I climbed the steel bars at one point, my heart fluttered for a bit, but I didn’t show it. I didn’t want them to perceive me as weak,” Aurora said, “so I didn’t stop shouting. I think they got fed up with my screaming and decided to let me out.”“Oh my child,” Moira hugged her again,“I’m sorry, Mum, I should have stayed in the room like you asked.” Aurora muffled, “I was just bored.”“No,

Theodore, with a fast walking pace, went to his bedroom and saw Ingrid staring outside from his window. He paused for a moment, admiring her outline from behind, with a smile on his face. His wolf growled. Thinking that his wolf was angry at him for standing still instead of moving on to the next level, Theodore silently calmed his wolf down, “Calm down, what’s the rush? It’s here now, and we are so doing it today.”“Are you just going to stand there?” Ingrid said, still looking out of the window. She had smelled him the moment he entered the room, but it was beginning to feel like forever to her, as Theodore was taking forever to come to her.“Do you not know not to keep a lady waiting?” A slight smile on her face.A few seconds later, she felt Theodore hold her from behind and pressed a kiss on her neck. She smiled and held his hand, resting her head on his chest.“Pardon this ignorant man,” he kissed her neck again, “who seems to still freeze at the sight of a dazzling beauty like

Aurora opened her eyes at first, and it was blurry. She closed and opened them again, and only then did her sight begin to come back to normal. She had been knocked unconscious by an unknown person. She wasn’t in pain, though; whoever had knocked her out did not want to inflict pain, maybe.Realizing her surroundings, she quickly rushed to her feet. She wasn’t in a room like the ones she had seen moments ago; it was a prison-like room. There were steel bars, a big single window at the back, and a large mirror-glass wall that looked like it sealed the main entrance. One would have to open the big mirror-glass to get to the bars and then into the room. She looked around and didn’t find anything like a bed or chair. This didn’t raise an alarm to her because, from what she knew, kidnappers put their victims in a room with either a chair or a bed, or both. If there were none in the room, it could only be that she wasn’t kidnapped. What then could she be doing here? How did she end up here?

Somewhere around the Pacific Northwest. It was night, and she was supposed to be on the road to her mother’s in Northern California, but unfortunately, here she was, fighting for her life.Heavily pregnant and almost due for delivery, she brushed through the thick bush searching for any glimmer of hope or help from someone, but it was all bushes. She had been badly injured by what she had seen to be a dog… or wolf.It attacked her so quickly that before she knew it, she was bleeding profusely from her inner thigh. Her chances of making it seemed impossible, but then, she saw people who moved with torchlights towards her, like they knew she would be coming.“H… help me, please.” She weakly waved one of her hands in the air, shouting as she supported her injured thigh with the other hand.“Dogs, wolves,” the men hurried their footsteps. “Help.” She collapsed before she could say another word. The High Keep mansionIn the living room, Beta Luke informs Brynn, Alpha of The Foreclaws Pack,
