A cloudy morning and Zavier is still sound asleep even though the alarm on his phone has been ringing for a while.
"Nayla, tell the alarm to be quiet first!"
"The song earlier was truly beautiful to my ears!" Zavier shouted in his sleep.
Zavier dreamed he was listening to a song sung with a beautiful melody in his ears, the voice of a girl who was very gentle and soothing. The same song that had accompanied him while he was still in a coma.
'Aren't your legs tired from running? There is something they don't understand. Give yourself some time to lean for a moment, all this time you've been great ... It's just that you haven't been heard.' The melodies flew.
Zavier smiled contentedly in his sleep, he really liked that song. But the alarm ringing on his phone started to feel annoying.
"Nayla! I told you to turn off the alarm!" Zavier sat on the bed, feeling angry because his wife still hadn't moved.
Slowly, Zavier returned to consciousness. Nayla had indeed left him.
Annoyed, Zavier grabbed the phone that kept ringing and turned off the alarm.
Zavier stared blankly, his gaze flat, and he felt he had to find his wife immediately.
Nothing could be done properly by Zavier alone. The man struggled even to find his flip-flops.
With a little hopping, Zavier held back his cold feet because he couldn't find his sandals.
After finishing his shower, Zavier got dressed and hurriedly made his way to the kitchen while remembering his tie.
"Where's my breakfast? Eh?" For the first time, he just realized there was no breakfast. In that big and luxurious house, there was no one else but himself.
There was no food smell that he usually often ignored when Nayla served it wholeheartedly.
Zavier stopped tying his tie and looked at his reflection in the decorative mirror in the kitchen. Her appearance looks messy today. A situation where his stomach growls and there is no food at all.
All the past, Nayla always cooked breakfast and also packed it in a lunchbox for lunch, but he never acknowledged it, let alone ate it.
Zavier clenched his jaw again in frustration and then moved to grab a glass to drink.
"Aowhh!" Zavier drank water that was too cold. The cloudy weather had already made him feel a bit cold, and now the cold drinking water made his mouth feel sore.
Annoyed, Zavier picked up the phone and called his assistant, Cahyo.
"Cahyo! My wife is missing! Find him today and drag him back home. I don't want to know even if you have to turn Jakarta upside down!
Click! The call was unilaterally ended by Zavier.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Nayla had already woken up early and prepared fried rice to share with her younger sibling.
"I'm going to apply for a job today," Nayla said confidently while enjoying breakfast together.
Nadira nodded without answering. In his heart, she was worried about the actions taken by his older sister. The Abraham family is an unbeatable conglomerate family.
Nadira is worried that her sister's decision will have a negative impact on them, while she still needs a lot of money for her medical expenses.
Nayla glanced at her younger sibling, who seemed lost in thought as if she could guess the younger one's train of thought.
All this time, Xander has always sent her money for living expenses and medical costs. Even though Nayla thinks she does all of that just because she is enduring as Zavier's wife. All of it is like a reward she gets as long as she fulfills her duties as Zavier's wife.
"Don't worry, Nadira. I will still find a way to cover your medical expenses," Nayla said while spooning a mouthful of rice into her mouth.
Nadira nodded resignedly and chose not to comment further.
After the breakfast event was over, Nayla kissed Nadira on the forehead and said, "I'm going now to look for a job! Please pray for me!"
Nadira nodded and then followed her sister's steps until she left the house and closed the door.
Nadira was frozen behind the door while holding her phone. Should he contact Xander and inform him that Nayla is here with her?
Even though she knows, Nayla's presence will surely be discovered soon because Xander often visits her and checks on her health.
That old man has already considered them like his own children.
With trembling hands, Nadira pressed Xander's button and informed him about her sister's presence at her house.
"Alright, I will send Zavier's assistant to pick up Nayla. Thank you, Nadira. And how are you doing right now? Are you doing well?" Xander asked with a cheerful expression because he didn't have to go through the trouble of finding his daughter-in-law.
The man believes that the small problems in his son's household will be able to be resolved by him.
"Is the money I sent still enough for your medical expenses?"
"Still," Nadira said with a trembling voice.
There is an inner war within her who feels she has betrayed her brother.
"Yes, that's fine. Just let me know when it's finished."
"Sir, may I keep this call confidential?" Nadira asked with a hoarse voice.
Xander thought for a moment, he understood the state of mind of the innocent girl. "Alright," he replied a moment later.
"Thank you."
The call was disconnected and Nadira was engulfed in tears. She is thinking about the very high medical costs and doesn't want to die.
What's wrong with having a little fun with women? Nadira is monologuing in her heart. She has no idea how Zavier treats her older sister because Nayla never tells everything in detail.
"Sister, forgive me, b-but ... we can't possibly survive without financial help from the Abraham family!"
Nadira squatted on the floor and sobbed while hugging her knees.
It only took ten minutes, and the information about Nayla's whereabouts reached Zavier, who had just stepped into his office.
"Sir," greeted Cahyo with sparkling eyes.
"Report quickly and buy me breakfast because I'm very hungry!" Zavier exclaimed, panting.
Throughout the journey to the office, he couldn't shake off the image of Nayla from his mind.
Nayla, who is busy running around doing various household chores, always spins in her mind.
"Nayla is at Nadira's house, in the city of Bogor," Cahyo replied while adjusting his glasses.
"What?!"
Without waiting any longer, Zavier immediately grabbed the car keys and stepped out of his office.
"Sir, how about your breakfast?"
The question was completely unanswered by Zavier, who had already hurriedly run towards the elevator.
The destination is very clear! To Bogor right now!
Cahyo had to run to keep up with his master's pace. He also has to follow Zavier, as ordered by Xander: "Tell him that he has to bring Nayla back and visit me in the hospital!"
Cahyo clearly remembered the orders from Lord Abraham.
"Wait, Sir! I'm coming!" shouted Cahyo, running behind Zavier who had already reached the parking lot very quickly.
Meanwhile, Nayla is waiting in a room filled with several people. They will undergo interviews for a singing job on the small stage in the café.
"Nayla Pratama!" called a neatly uniformed woman with several documents in her hand.
"It's me!" Nayla stood up and immediately followed the woman's footsteps.
Nayla entered the audition room and sat in front of the microphone. The room was separated by a thin glass, so Nayla could not see the faces of the judges who would give her a score.
"You can start to sing!" commanded a man from behind a separate room, his voice only audible from a small speaker beneath the glass partition.
Nayla took a deep breath, trying to calm herself before starting. She looked at the microphone in front of her, feeling tense yet also full of enthusiasm to give her best. She had to do all this, she knew it would be difficult to find a job in a country ruled by the Abraham's family. But, that was not a reason for her to beg and serve Zavier again. He needs a substantial living cost, so this will be his first step towards a career. With only a few qualifications and work experience in an office, it is unlikely that she will be accepted by a company to work in an office. But, she has a melodious voice; before meeting Zavier, she often performed on stages to sing at weddings or birthday parties. With great care, she chose the song she would sing, a song that filled her heart with complex emotions. When Nayla started singing, she tried to look towa
"Listen, Nayla," Michael said with a warm voice, "I know you're in a difficult situation." Why don't you allow me to take you home? I'm sure we can chat the whole way."Nayla was surprised by the offer, but also touched by Michael's kindness. Although her heart was torn between nervousness and gratitude, she finally nodded gently."Thank you, Michael. I appreciate it," Nayla said with a voice full of gratitude."You wait for me outside. Three more people and the audition will be over," said Michael as he walked away, while Nayla returned to the waiting room where the other auditionees greeted her with annoyed faces."Why is it taking so long, huh!" An audition participant shot Nayla a displeased look and then entered the audition room according to their turn.Nayla was a bit confused because she remembered the message Michael had conveyed earlier. Should she wait?
On the other hand, Nayla really wants to try on her own and prove the potential of her talent. They continued their conversation comfortably, sharing stories and memories about their past. Laughing and joking, they seemed to forget all the problems they were facing in the outside world.A moment later, the atmosphere changed when Michael asked about Nayla's husband. "How is your husband doing?" Michael asked with a slightly heavy voice.Nayla felt a bit awkward with that question. She felt uncomfortable discussing her personal matters with Michael, even though she appreciated Michael's kindness and concern."Oh, he's busy with his work," Nayla replied awkwardly, trying to avoid the topic.Michael sensed Nayla's discomfort, but he didn't want to press her. "Sorry if I asked too much," he said softly, trying to lighten the mood.Nayla smiled faintly, feeling re
Nayla tried to remember whether she had told her sister about her plans, but she wasn't sure. The feeling of suspicion began to gnaw at her heart. She felt betrayed by someone she should have trusted. However, she also couldn't ignore the fact that her situation with Zavier had been complicated before, and perhaps Zavier had done everything possible to track her down. With a confusing mix of emotions, Nayla felt increasingly trapped in a labyrinth of complicated problems. She didn't know what to do next, but one thing was certain: she had to find a way to deal with all of this and find a way out of the increasingly worsening situation.Zavier, after closing the door and locking it from the inside, felt annoyed because he couldn't find Nayla in the room. His eyes swept the room quickly, searching for any trace of his wife's presence. However, when he heard the sound of running water coming from the ba
Zavier stared at Nayla with an intense gaze, trying to understand the meaning behind her words. However, in his own confusion and bewilderment, he couldn't contain his feelings of anger and frustration."What do you want, Nayla?" What must I do for you to come back to me?" Zavier urged with a forceful voice, confusion and misunderstanding surfacing in every word.Nayla felt suffocated by the increasing pressure. She knew that she had to think clearly and make the right decision, but in her heart, she felt trapped between lingering feelings of love and an increasingly complicated and painful reality. With a heavy heart and breathless, Nayla tried to find the courage and strength to answer Zavier's question.Nayla asserted her decision with a trembling voice, "Leave Sefia!"Hearing those words, Zavier's gentle gaze immediately changed. The man immediately relea
Nayla did not notice Zavier's presence in the room. She was too engulfed in the pain and despair that hit her. Every sob and moan that escaped her lips felt like a painful blow, reflecting the emotional devastation she felt within herself.Zavier stood at the threshold, silenced by the heartbreaking scene before his eyes. His heart felt shattered seeing his wife in deep sorrow, yet he felt powerless to provide support or comfort to Nayla.Although his heart was filled with uncertainty and confusion, Zavier approached Nayla with faltering steps. He felt a strong emotional vibration within him as he saw his wife struck by deep sorrow. Without a word, he embraced Nayla in his arms, letting their body warmth touch each other.Nayla was taken aback by Zavier's actions, feeling the tenderness in her husband's embrace. She felt shattered by the despair and sadness that overwhelmed her, but Zavier's presence gave her a bit of co
Nadira stood frozen in front of the door, holding the door frame on the opposite side as if wanting to give strength to her older sister, but seeing her sister was fine, the girl chose to comply and returned to her bedroom."Tomorrow morning I have to undergo dialysis," she murmured, then tried to sleep.Meanwhile, Nayla chose to sleep in the living room, taking an extra pillow and relying on a blanket to fend off the cold of the night in Bogor.Zavier's body is tall, standing at 185 cm. The small bed can only accommodate him, and even then, his feet will be hanging off the edge. The sound of mosquitoes buzzing in Nayla's ears forced the woman to keep her eyes open until the sun shone through the curtains covering the glass window of the simple house.Nayla sat on the sofa chair with panda-like eyes. Yawning repeatedly before finally deciding to make fried rice so that Nadira wou
"We can never be together again. I have made my decision," she continued. With slow steps, Nayla left the room after dressing completely and modestly, carefully closing the door. Although she left with a troubling sense of anxiety in her heart, she hoped that Zavier would get a good rest and they would talk again after everything had the right time.Nayla was preparing to apply for jobs elsewhere, feeling that she needed to seek new opportunities to support herself and lighten the family's financial burden. Before she left the house, she wrote a memo for Zavier and placed it on the dining table. The short message simply stated that Nayla was going to look for a new job. She also added that food was already on the table, so Zavier should eat a little before returning to Jakarta, and included a small note saying not to worry because Nayla wouldn't charge Zavier for the last fried rice, as they would be getting divorced any
***Happy ending***Zavier smiled coldly, his gaze calculating. “They conspired,” he replied in a low but firm tone. “They stole Nayla's identity and made my wife suffer through memory loss. They played with her life, erasing the precious memories we once had. If they think they can get away with it, they're sadly mistaken.”His assistant remained calm on the other end of the line, waiting for further instructions. “What is your plan, sir?”Zavier stared far ahead, his eyes filled with determination. “Reclaim her face,” he said meaningfully, ”and let the fake forget her memory. Make her feel what Nayla experienced. If they dare to take my wife's life, then I will take back what they stole. The face they created, the memories they formed... let it all crumble and perish.”His assistant nodded on the other end of the line, understanding what Zavier meant. “Yes, sir. I will arrange everything.
Sefia gasped and turned her head quickly, her eyes showing obvious shock. “Oh, Zavier... I just... had some sudden business,” she stammered. “You don't need to worry. It's just a short meeting.”However, Zavier did not simply believe her. There was something in the woman's demeanor that made him suspicious, and his desire to find out more surfaced strongly.Without saying anything else, he let Sefia go first, but not long after, Zavier got into his car and started following behind.Zavier kept his distance, making sure that Sefia did not notice his presence. He drove slowly, following Sefia's car carefully. Every turn the woman took further emphasized Zavier's suspicions. “What is she really hiding?” he muttered to himself.“She doesn't look like the Nayla that belongs to me, her eyes, her voice are different, and her height. Why did I never realize that?&rdq
“Sara, a-I'll give you an extra fee... for... for what happened last night.”Hearing that, Sara's eyes rounded and a pile of tears began to gather rapidly. Those words pierced Sara's heart. It was as if everything that happened between them was just a transaction, not something that had meaning. Her face that had been full of love turned into unbearable anger. “Pay?” she snarled in a sharp voice, her eyes looking at Bram with disappointment.“So, you think I'm just a servant who can be bought? What happened last night is just something you can pay me to erase?”Bram was silent, not expecting Sara's reaction to be that harsh. He opened his mouth, trying to find words to defuse the situation, but Sara continued before he could speak.“I'm not something you can bargain with, honorable Mr. Bram! Whatever happened last nig
His ears seemed to be deaf to the words Sara threw out. To him, in that drunken state, Sara was Nayla coming back to him, and this was a chance to embrace the woman he had been longing for.“Don't leave again, Nayla... please...” she whispered desperately, holding Sara's body on the bed. Tearing off the clothes she was wearing and starting to nuzzle Sara's slender neck.Sara tried to push Bram away, trying to snap him out of his drunken stupor. “Mr. Bram, this is not Nayla! You're drunk! Let go of me!” she said in a loud and trembling voice. However, her efforts were not strong enough to sober Bram up.Feelings of fear and confusion mixed in Sara's mind. She knew that this man was obsessed with Nayla, but she never expected to be in this situation. In a last ditch effort, she gathered all the strength she had and managed to break free from Bram's grip, roll off the bed, and escape out of the room as quickly as possible, leaving Bra
Nadia's face-or Nayla, as it often crossed his mind-was so similar to the one he remembered as the wife he loved. Not just in terms of physical appearance, but also in the way she spoke, her gentle smile, and the way she looked at Zavier as if recognizing the deepest part of his soul. Every glance, every body movement, felt like an inexplicable déjà vu.Her lips and her kiss. However, the woman now in his home-who he had always believed to be Nayla-felt different. It was as if something was missing, something unseen but felt. Her gaze was empty and distant, her touch no longer providing the warmth they once shared.“Have I been blinded by my desperation to get my wife back? Is that woman really Nayla?” Zavier thought.Zavier clasped his head with both hands, trying to calm the turmoil of his feelings. If this Nadia was the real Nayla, then who was the wo
Zavier immediately turned to Nayla, who was now sitting upright on the sofa with her hair tousled and her eyes half open. He knew that the situation could get ugly if he didn't get things under control soon.“Nayla, calm down,” he said in a soothing tone on his cell phone. “I'm helping someone who needs help. There's nothing for you to worry about.”However, those words were not enough to calm Sefia down. “Helping someone? In the middle of the night like this? And that woman's voice, why is she with you?” Sefia was getting more and more agitated, her voice portraying a burning anger and jealousy.Zavier let out a long breath, realizing that a simple explanation would not be enough to ease the anger of the woman who claimed to be his wife.“Nadia is facing a complicated situation, and I can't just leave her. Believe me, I didn't do anything wrong,” she r
Zavier looked at her deeply, as if trying to find the answer behind Nadia's eyes. “Maybe there's something in you that's more than just a similar face to Nayla. Maybe, somehow, we once had more of a connection than we realized.”“Or... are you the real Nayla?” asked Zavier, but the question was more to himself as Nadia just looked at him with a sad face. They sat in silence for a while, enjoying the warmth that still remained from that moment. Although there was a lot of confusion and questions still hanging in the air, both of them felt a strange but real bond, as if fate had brought them back together after a long time apart. The rain began to fall heavily outside, droplets soaking the windows and a soft, soothing rhythm could be heard.Zavier looked out for a moment before turning back to Nayla. Without saying much, he led her to the living room. They walked slowly, feeling the silence filled only by the sound of the rain drippi
Zavier took another step towards Nayla and said, “You rest inside and I'll take Joen home first. After that, I'll come and bring some food for you, okay?”Nayla nodded obediently and gave a warm smile and waved goodbye to Joen. They got back into the car, and Zavier drove Joen home.Along the way, his mind was spinning, thinking of the steps to take. Who exactly was the woman he brought to the empty house? Was she really the real Nayla, or just the result of Bram's crazy obsession with creating a clone? The questions kept swirling in his mind, and Zavier knew that the answers he would find might change everything. After ensuring Joen's safe return, Zavier quickly returned to the empty house. He had to talk to the woman, find out who she really was, and what was really going on. In his heart, Zavier hoped that the truth, no matter how hard it was, would come out so that everyone involved could find the peace that had been taken from thei
Having run out of steam to vent his anger, Bram shuffled towards his room. The door slammed loudly behind him, signaling that he didn't want to be disturbed.Sara stood at the door, while several servants began to organize to clean up the broken glass scattered in the living room.Moments later, there was the sound of a bottle being opened and the smell of alcohol spreading from behind the door. Bram took a rough swig of liquor, trying to shake off the deep frustration and emptiness. He felt like he had done everything-transforming Sefia into Nayla's likeness, and thinking he could slowly possess Nayla-but in reality, the real Nayla still eluded him.In that dark room, Bram felt completely defeated. No matter how much he tried to control the situation, reality always made him feel like he was chasing a shadow that he could never reach. The man occasionally shouted, startling Sara. However, the woman remained faithful and behind the door of the room
