SEVENTY THREE

Malvika stumbled through the hotel doors, ignoring the looks that people have her. She looked and felt exhausted and she knew it. As she turned to walk into the elevator, she saw Haley standing by her desk and walked towards her. “Hi,” She greeted, slumping into the tall stool that was across Haley.

Haley glanced at her. “Hi. Malvika, right?”

Malvika nodded. “Yeah. I came here to look for you this morning,” she said. “But the guy here said you weren’t around yet.” She had forgotten the guy's name.

“Right. My shifts starts at twelve in the afternoon,” Haley replied. “And it ends by ten. How are you doing?” she asked politely.

“I’m stressed out,” Malvika groaned. “I’m tired and I just want to lay down and sleep. I have no idea what to do. I’m so fucking tired.”

“Is something wrong?” Haley inquired. Then, she hurriedly said, “Sorry for asking. I don’t mean to be a snoop but it’s just that you look really…..well, stressed. You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”

“No, it’s okay,”
