SEVENTY TWO

Diane and Natasha climbed out of the car and headed into the company’s building. The security men at door mumbled greetings to Diane and she nodded in reply, walking straight towards her receptionist, Ariana’s desk.

Immediately Arian saw Diane coming, she rose to her feet and greeted as politely as she could, “Good morning Miss Matthews.”

“Ariana, how are you doing this morning?” Diane asked.

“Fine, thank you ma.” She paused, hesitating. Then, she said, “Um… ma, my apologies for your….. your sister's disappearance.”

“Oh, I see you’ve heard about that,” Diane said, shrugging her shoulders while trying to play it cool. Behind her, Natasha rolled her eyes. “Anyway, that’s kind of the thing I wanted to talk to you about.”

“Oh?”

“Hmm. Ariana, I need your help,” Diane started to say.

Ariana straightened up. “With what ma?” she asked in a polite and respectful tone.
