Jenny stared as Malvika kissed Jayden on his lips. She stood still for a while, trying to compose her thoughts. She watched as Malvika held on to Jayden sucking his lips like her life depended on it. She noted that Jayden didn’t do anything. His hands were just helplessly by his side.
Malvika finally let go of him and turned to meet Jenny. “Oh, hello there, Jenny. I didn’t hear you coming in.”
Jenny smirked. “Oh, I think you did,” she said. She walked towards Jayden and placed her hands on his chest. “Hey,” she said softly.
“Oh…Kay,” Jayden quickly pulled away, forcing Jenny to drop her hands. “While this has been fun, I think we should focus on what we came here for,” he said, moving to sit down.
Malvika gave Jenny a smug smirk and slowly lowered herself to her seat across Jayden.
Jenny chuckled. She moved closer to Malvika, leaned down and whispered, “You kissed him. I had sex with him. Spot the difference.” Then, she straightened hers
“Are you ready?” Diane asked she watched Malvika and Natasha load the cars with their traveling bags. Nicholas was seated at the driver seat, waiting for them to be done. “Is that all?” Diane asked again. “Have you packed everything you will be needing?” She asked anxiously. They were traveling for their father's funeral. Diane and Logan had been involved in the planning for a while. It was going to be a small ceremony for only family and a couple of friends.“Are you sure you’ve packed it all?” Diane asked again.“Yeah. That’s perfect,” Malvika said. “But I’m not going with you guys. Jayden is coming to pick me up.”Nicholas poked his head out of the car. “Where is Jenny?” he asked.“Have you forgotten she said she isn’t coming with us?” Diane answered. “
Diane stood in front of the mirror in her white pajamas gown. She brushed her hair slowly, staring at her reflection in the mirror. There was a knock on her door. She tilted her head slightly and called out, “Come inside.” The door opened and Nicholas stepped inside. She sent him a quick smile. “Hi,” she said casually.“Hey babe,” he said with an half-smile.Diane turned her attention back to the mirror. “Why are you here? Aren’t you supposed to be downstairs with your parents?”“I missed you,” he said casually making Diane’s heart spin in 360 degrees. He walked towards the bed and sat at the edge.Diane smiled. She dropped her comb and proceeded to pack her hair.Nicholas raised his hand to stop her from packing it. “No, leave it. I like it like this. You look beautiful.”Her insides warmed up at the compliment and she blushed. She gave a skeptical glance at
Diane stood in front of the mirror, a brush in her hand. She stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her sad, hooded eyes were expertly covered with mascara, eyeliner and fake lashes. Her cheeks were colored with fake blush to hide the sadness on her face. She slowly raised her hand and touched her reflection in the mirror. The make-up on her face did nothing to hide the sadness of her eyes. She watched as two drops of tears fell from each of her eyes and rolled down her cheek. The door opened and through the mirror, she saw Nicholas stepping inside the room. He closed the door gently behind him. “Diane,” he called, taking a step towards her.She slowly turned around. “Hey,” she croaked, forcing out a small smile.Nicholas walked towards her. “You are crying,” he stated. She shook her head, raising her hand and touching her eyelid with a finger. “I’m not,” she said, her voice low and hoarse.
Diane sat at the driver’s seat of the car, her hands on the wheel. Her sister, Malvika was seated at the passenger seat beside her, staring out through the window while Natasha sat behind, staring blankly into the atmosphere. They were parked in front of the cemetery where they had buried their father. Diane stared ahead of her, the tears in her lids blinded her vision.Malvika turned to her, reached out her hand and placed it on her shoulder. “Hey, shouldn’t we be getting down?”Diane shook her head. “You guys can go ahead,” she replied without turning to look at her.Malvika hesitated. She turned her towards Natasha, raising a brow in question. Natasha shrugged in reply and together, they opened their separate doors and stepped out of the car. Malvika paused, turning to Diane. “Hey, are you going to be okay?”Diane nodded, forcing out a smile. “I’m fine,” she said. She watched as her sist
“Hey honey,” Ashley squeaked in her child-like high voice, wrapping her hands around Nicholas’ arm and tiptoeing to kiss him on his cheek. “What’s wrong?” She asked, rubbing his arm.Nicholas sighed in exasperation. “Oh God, Ashley!” He has been trying to wave off her advances since the beginning since the beginning of the day but she had been proving stubborn. “We at someone’s funeral, for Christ sake!”“So?” She asked, shrugging her shoulders indifferently. “It’s not like we knew him anyway. At least, I didn’t know him, so why should I care?”Nicholas stared at her, surprised. Was she always this cold-hearted and he was just blind to it because of love? Or was this just a new behavior of hers? “Ash, show some sympathy! And of you don’t care, why are you even here?”“Because,
Diane stood by the window side, looking outside. It was night and she had just finished dinner after a long day at the cemetery.Thinking about the cemetery made her remember the scene of Ashley and Nicholas kissing. She remembered how are heart broke and how terribly weak and disgusted she felt at Nicholas. Just when’s he thought the were starting to make a progress in their relationship, he turned around and betrayed her. If not for Jayden, she wasn’t sure what would have happened to her. She would probably have broken down.Diane shook her head thoroughly. “No,” she cautioned herself in her mind. “Don’t think about that.” She was enjoying the scenery of Logan’s house and thinking about the scene in the cemetery ruined the mood for her. She enjoyed watching the pool. She found immense pleasure in watching the sun set. A smile made a way to her face as she stared outside. The smile soon disappeared as soon as she felt a
Diane walked down the stairs in her blue pajamas. She had spent the night in Natasha’s room. When she got downstairs, she saw Logan, Nicholas, Natasha, Malvika and Jayden seated at the table. She walked towards them and pulled out a chair. “Good morning.”“Hey sis,” Malvika greeted.Diane gave a small smile. “Hi Malvika.” She glanced at Nicholas and caught him staring at her intently. She quickly averted her gaze, lowering her eyes. She turned her head and saw that she had chosen the chair beside Jayden. “Hi Jayden,” Diane greeted with a full smile. Jayden gave her an half-hug with his arms around her shoulder. “Good morning Kristy, Logan,” she paused, then, added, “Nicholas.”“Morning, darling,” Kristy, Logan’s wife said.“Hi, Kristy,” Diane greeted.“Diane, how are you this morning?” Logan asked.Diane smiled brightly. &l
Diane stood in front of her mirror, carefully pulling off her earrings. They had gotten home about twenty minutes ago and she finally had some time to herself. She moved towards her bed and slowly sunk into it, sighing. Her life sucked. At least that’s what she felt. Her father was dead. She was in love with a man who was still so attached to his girlfriend. And tomorrow, she had to go to her company where all the men there looked at her like she was some form of imposter or something.Supporting her elbow with her knee, she placed her head into her palms. The image of Ashley and Nicholas kissing flashed through her head once again and she nearly cried out in anger and bitterness. ‘What is wrong with me?!’ she yelled to herself. ‘Why do I have to keep putting myself in this position?!’She hated this. She hated that all Nicholas had to do was say the word sorry and kiss her and she would immediately forgive him. She hated tha
