Chapter 2

Chapter 2: Dance the night away

The guy that had just arrived walked pass by me, walking inside the bar which then left a scent of somewhat like Jo Malone wood & sage perfume which made me feel a tingling sensation in my stomach.

I was then awoken in my senses when I felt someone shaking my shoulders. I turned to look who it was and saw Andrea raising her brows at me.

“I just left you for three minutes and your soul had left your body, you ok?” she asked, I then pursed my lips and composed myself before nodding.

“Yeah, I'm great. Let's go?” I asked her, she nodded. We then started to make our way inside the bar.

As soon as we got in, our ears was then filled with loud music, people cheering and laughing. We started to squish ourselves to go through the mini couch where Andrea had reserved.

“Skylar!” I heard Andrea scream when we were right infront of the couch, it was then on that I noticed that there were three guys already occupying the seat.

“Hey, cous.” the guy who had helped me earlier, greeted Andrea back. I noticed his eyes lingers unto me for a little to long. I then looked away, avoiding his gaze.

“Oh, right. This is Genesis, my best friend. Gen, this is Sky while those two are Jake and Chris.” she introduced them to me. I gave them a small smile and nodded at their direction. They also did the same.

We both then sat down while the guys offered us a drink. I thanked them before drinking it all down in one gulp. I guess I really need a drink.

“I heard you just moved in here.” The guy who I think is named Jake, said. I then turned to face him and nodded.

“Yeah, I just did. Earlier today.” I told him, he then nodded.

“So, how is Sanford so far?” he queried, I pursed my lips and act as if I was thinking.

“It's great, I didn't encounter any bastard or shitty women shouting at anyone on the streets unlike my hometown so, it's great.” I answered,  he then let out a small laugh.

“Let's dance, come on.” I heard Andrea said and stood up, walking towards the dance floor. Jake and Chris then followed her, which left me and Skylar all alone together at the couch.

“Let's go?” he asked, I pursed my lips and shook my head.

“Ah, no. I don't dance.” I told him, he chuckled.

“Everybody can dance, come on.” he insisted, I didn't want to be rude so I accepted his offer. We both then walked towards the dance floor.

I just stood there and bopped my head while he started to do some dance moves, which I find sexy.

“Come on, loosen up and have fun.” he said before grabbing my hands pulling it close to him and spinning me.

My back was on him, I then felt his hands crawl down my waist while his face was buried in the hollow of my neck.

I felt his warm breath hit my skin, which caused me to feel that tingling sensation again. I just then noticed that my body was swaying with the beat, while he was hugging me from behind.

He then held my hand again and made me face him, I was holding his shoulders while he was holding my waist, swaying me.

The music was loud and the beat was nothing near a slow song, but I just felt my world stop as I dance with the guy that I just met.

But we were both separated when the others arrived, joining us. I looked away to hide my red stained cheeks and just danced.

We were just dancing around but ended up laughing too hard when Chris was on the floor doing weird dances.

After a few more minutes of goofing around, I just found us drinking shots on the couch while laughing out loud.

I don't know what time it was, all I know is that we were having fun and making memories.

I felt a heavy pang in my head as soon as I woke up, my vision was blurry but I can make up a guy standing at the edge of my bed.

I shut my eyes close and just jumped out of bed when it all sink in, I fixed my vision towards the guy infront of me. It was Sky.

I stared at myself and saw that I still had the same clothes from last night.

“Don't worry, nothing happened.” he paused and placed a table and an aspirin. “Drink this.”

“Thanks. But, why are you here?” I asked him, he shrugged and placed his hands inside his pocket.

“I brought you here last night, you were too drunk to walk. Heck you mumble, curse and kick a lot.” he said while looking away and shaking his head. As if he couldn't believe what happened.

“Did I say anything stupid?” I asked him, I felt my cheeks burn while hoping that I did not.

“Ah no, just cursing at that one guy, Lucas. But so far, nothing more.” he said, “It seems like you have such huge anger towards that guy, huh?”

I chuckled awkwardly and nodded, “Y-yeah, I think so.”

“Drink this, get dressed and we'll grab some breakfast downstairs.” he said before turning his back and left my bedroom.

I blinked twice, couldn't believe of what he had just commanded. But instead of wasting time and think about it, I rushed towards the bathroom and showered.

After stepping out and dressing up, I stared at myself in the mirror and when I felt satisfied with how I looked, I got out of my room.

I saw him leaning at the back of my sofa, staring straight at me. So I let out a small smile and looked away to hide my shyness, why does he have to stare at me like that?

“You look good,” he said before standing up straight and walk towards the door, he paused and turned to look at me“Let's go?”

“Y-yeah, t-thanks though.” I stuttered, and started to play with my fingers to brush away that tingling sensation that I feel.

We made our way downstairs and I was hesitant whether to ask him if we should do separate rides or just stick to his or my car. But I guess he had read my mind when he opened the door to his car and gestured for me to get in.

I mouthed him thanks before getting inside the car. He roamed around to get to the other side of the car and got in too. I fastened my seatbelt as soon as he turned the engine on.

The ride towards wherever we're having breakfast was silent, so I just stared outside the window while I was still fidgeting my fingers.

“I forgot to ask you,” he paused so I turned to look at him, he gave me a glance through the rearview mirror before continuing. “Are you a pancake or french toast type?”

“I'm okay with both.” I replied shortly and looked away again. My ear was once again filled with deafening silence, and to no such luck we were stuck in traffic.

“Is it okay if I play some music?” he asked, I turned and nodded.

“It's your car, after all.” I told him and just stared outside the window.

He started to sing along and his voice had made me feel this tingling sensation again and it's terrifying me, because it's familiar. I've felt it before, and I already know how it'll turn out.
