Nick’s POV

~~ Flashback: Before the Accident ~~

I was trying to finish all my work at the office. I had to go home early. I had something special prepared for Jessica.

Suddenly, my phone rang.

"Yes, hello?"

"Good afternoon Mr. Ford. Everything is now set according to your instructions. I also sent a video to your email. Kindly check it in case there’s anything you want changed or removed."

"OK, thank you! I’ll check it now. I’ll call you back."

It was the decorator I hired for yet another proposal to Jessica. I eagerly opened my email. I smiled as I watched the video. The setup was perfect. I wanted it in a different place at first, but I chose the condo, more private, no interruptions.

I knew her engagement to Rich was still fresh, but I didn’t care. I didn’t want anyone to see us and put Jessica in a bad light publicly. I’d endure for now.

I smiled even more when I saw the large portrait of her, she was smiling, happy. She looked like she was my whole world.
