Scarlett's POV

I am brave, but I couldn't help feeling nervous about what the police officer said. I started regretting my impulsiveness.

Now, George is involved. I'm worried for him. I saw how the man looked at him, like he was seething with rage and seeking revenge.

I didn’t want to withdraw the case, but Dad texted me, saying he had already spoken to the man’s father. That I didn’t need to worry about my safety. I know the guy wasn’t sincere in his apology, but I need to listen to Dad.

We walked out of the police station in silence, both deep in thought. Night had already fallen by the time we left. George was holding my arm as we walked out, supporting and protecting me. I felt thankful and overwhelmed.
