Lilith’s POV

By the time I returned to the office, the weight of the conversation I had with Cassian and Nolan still sat heavy on my mind. I barely remembered the drive back. The whole discussion kept looping in my head.

Cassian and Nolan had spent most of the morning arguing through a list of old enemies. Some were obvious, some obscure, all were dangerous. Cassian, especially, had gone quiet in that unnerving way he gets when he knows a ghost from his past might be resurfacing.

But the more I replayed every detail, the more every thread pointed in just one direction, the one person with a far larger motive than any shadow Cassian had once crossed.

Theo.

Cassian and Nolan had waved the idea off almost immediately. Nolan said Theo wasn’t “the type.” Cassian had frowned at the thought of it being theo but didn’t comment. Maybe out of respect. Maybe out of guilt.

But I knew Theo. I knew what he was like when he felt cornered. What he was like when he wanted something. What he was capabl

  • Until She Was Theirs   Chapter 71

Cassian’s POVThe bass from the underground club vibrated through the cracked concrete walls long before I reached the door. It wasn’t the clean, flashy kind of club music, this was the kind that's deep, ugly, thumping noise, the kind that settled in your chest like a second heartbeat. The kind this crowd preferred. The kind that said:If you walk in, you better be ready for blood or business.Tonight, I came solely for business. The two guards at the door straightened when they saw what…who….I dragged behind me. The Viper member stumbled, wrists bound, his face swollen from the beating I had given him earlier. He tried to stand taller, tried to act like he wasn’t terrified, but his legs shook more with every step. One of the guards flashed a look at the other.I pushed past them.If the gang leaders wanted evidence, I brought them evidence.Inside, smoke curled thick around the red flashing lights. The air tasted of sweat, alcohol, and something metallic. The massive warehouse-turned

  • Until She Was Theirs   Chapter 70

Lilith’s POVLyra stared at her phone a moment longer, her expression tightening by a fraction, so slight that anyone else would’ve missed it. But I’d spent enough time around Cassian to recognize the signs. The twins might play in chaos, but every now and then something real cracked through the glitter. Then it was gone. Lyra snapped the mask back into place and shoved the phone into her jacket.“Alright,” she chirped, “warehouse tour done. Let’s go test the bikes.”I blinked. “Test the bikes?”“Oh yeah,” she said, already walking backwards toward the exit. “You didn’t think I brought you all the way here without trying out the prototypes, did you? That would be boring.”Before I could answer, she spun around and strode toward the garage bay like she owned the building.I followed, mostly because if I didn’t, she’d probably steal something or blow something up or both. The garage opened into an outdoor lot. Wind whipped through the open space, carrying the scent of steel and oil and

  • Until She Was Theirs   Chapter 69

Lilith’s POVThe next few days blurred into a fast-paced whirlwind, from the design meetings to prototype inspections, supplier calls, contractor updates, and more strategy sessions than any sane human should endure before breakfast. And yet, in some ridiculous twist of fate, I wasn’t tired. I was wired. Fired up. Determined. The challenge was everything now, not just professionally, but personally.Theo thought he could snatch the contract out from under us? Selene somewhat thought that her smirking threats could rattle me? The twins with their chaos and Cassian-flavored games? No. Not this time. But even as I organized meetings and reviewed preliminary designs, my thoughts drifted more often than I really wanted to admit.Cassian.Where was he with the gang leaders? Why hadn’t I asked him properly? Why did I keep on avoiding the subject?Every time I remembered Selene’s smug face in that restaurant, talking about “Cassian’s unresolved problems” as if she had a fucking right to use h

  • Until She Was Theirs   Chapter 68

Lilith’s POVBy the time I finally got home, the sun had sunk behind the rooftops, leaving behind the sky painted with soft hues of gold and fading orange. The quiet warmth of early evening should have soothed me, but my chest only felt tight since the moment I left Selene at that table. Her voice still rang in my ears. Her warning. Her threat.“Especially for your boys.”I pushed the door open, forcing myself to breathe normally. The smell of food, something rich, something spicy, hit me before I even stepped into the living room. Laughter followed next, warm and familiar. And then….“Lilith?”I blinked, and Nolan appeared in the hallway, sleeves rolled up, his tie loose, hair slightly messy. He expression softened the moment he saw me.“You are back.” He reached out, taking the bag off my shoulder like it weighed more than it did. “We ordered dinner. Cassian insisted on the place you like.”Cassian’s voice drifted from behind him. “No, you insisted. I just agreed so you wouldn’t whi

  • Until She Was Theirs   Chapter 67

Lilith’s POVNolan had barely finished his sentence when my mind began drifting elsewhere, back to the text message glowing on my phone like a quiet threat that refused to go away.‘We need to talk. Restaurant on Kingsway. 2 PM. Don’t keep me waiting—S’I hadn’t replied. I didn’t need to.Selene didn’t send messages because she hoped for answers. She sent them because she knew she would get what she wanted or thought she would.Nolan was still pacing in the office, barking orders at the committee he had assembled, his voice sharp with the pressure of everything now resting on his shoulders. I understood the weight he carried, but I also knew there were some battles I needed to fight alone….this one especially.“I need to attend to something,” I finally said, grabbing my bag.He paused mid-pace. “Lilith.”“I’ll be back soon.”His gaze lingered on my face, searching for the explanation I wasn't offering. But Nolan knew me well enough to understand: if I wasn’t talking, it was because I

  • Until She Was Theirs   Chapter 66

Theo’s POVThe second I walked into the office, I knew everyone had already sensed it.Fear was looming all over the place. It hung in the air like smoke thick, suffocating, clinging to every corner of the building. People scattered the moment they heard my footsteps. Even from down the hall I could hear the hurried scrapes of chairs, the frantic clatter of keyboards suddenly being typed on far too fast. My employees were scrambling like ants, pretending to be productive, praying not to catch my attention.Good.They should be afraid. They should tremble.Because right now I was livid. The rage didn’t creep in slowly, it detonated the moment the news reached me: the Contractor was reconsidering the entire contract because Lilith, in one stupid burst of emotion, had cornered him in a hallway and turned everything upside down. All because she couldn’t stay out of my way.And the worst part? It fucking worked. She got him to reopen negotiations. She forced him into a challenge. She undid
