I wasn’t able to get much sleep last night, but for the first time in a while, I was content as I watched Roxie get a decent night's rest. She was very restless and had some nightmares that she couldn’t seem to shake, but at least she was in a comfortable bed, next to a warm body, and not afraid of dying for at least one night. I was hoping it would give her the strength she needed to make it through until we could escape. I was dreading the sunrise to rear her ugly face this morning because I knew what it meant for Roxie. We stayed up half the night trying to come up with a plan, but without knowing what held our magic at bay, it was impossible to escape. There were several outside structures with doors, and if we could get to one of them, we would be able to get to the chrysoprase cabin, but what if the magic barrier extended over the length of the property and not just the house itself?
