CHAPTER 7 - First Task Fulfilled

“What?” surprised, I asked Guenzo as I did not hear what he said.

Guenzo sighed. “I said the Queen is looking at you but you are not reacting. Hayys, where did your mind wandered just now?”

“Damn,” I cursed as I averted my gaze toward the Queen who was as usual was wearing her ivory mask, who was indeed looking at me. A smile started to form my lips as I bowed with gallantness. In my mind, I was wondering what kind of a face the Queen had inside that ivory mask. Although I was sure she was beautiful. Her lips alone that was uncovered was already that inviting.

Queen Anastacia did not even nod at me after I greeted her. She gracefully got down from her throne and then stopped near us.

“Guenzo and Rodwartem, come with me,” she said in her usual authoritative voice. Her eyes were like an ocean, as I could not fathom how deep her mind could be by merely looking into them.

“Yes, Your Highness,” Guenzo and I, replied with politeness almost at the same time.

She continued to walk out of the throne hall, while me and Guenzo were following her.

We reached the Queen’s office, and she sat on her Victorian-inspired chair. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow. “Did you fulfill your mission, new Butler?” she asked after a while. Her eyes were fixed on me in a squinting way, as if waiting for me to tell her that I failed in my mission.

I smiled. “Your Highness, I fulfilled my mission. I brought you a couple who just recently found out that they are mates,” I replied at her, my voice was adorned with confidence.

“Really? Where are they?” The tone of Queen Anastacia was devoid of belief that indeed I was able to fulfill the mission she assigned to me. I was somewhat challenged instead of being disappointed.

“They are in your bedroom’s waiting area, Your Highness.” That was her instruction to me and Guenzo before. To bring the couple directly to her bedroom’s waiting area.

Her eyes twinkled for a little while before she looked at me with an unfathomable expression. Seemed like she did not fully believe me at all. Well, to see is to believe, right?

“They are just waiting for your further instructions, Your Highness,” I told her again with politeness. With my words, I hope I was able to persuade her in any way.

“Alright. You can tell them to wait for me for a little while. You may go,” Queen Anastacia retorted with such expression that neither I nor Guenzo was able to fathom. Was she happy, excited, or whatever? I thought, but could not actually decipher what she felt or thought by looking at her composed and cold appearance.

“As you commanded, My Queen,” I stood up and bowed at her before leaving her office. Guenzo followed me.

“Rodwar, are you confident that this young couple you found could satisfy the Queen?” Guenzo asked before we entered the Queen’s room waiting area. He seemed worried.

I stopped in front of the door and stared at Guenzo with a smile on my lips. “I am confident, Guenzo. Don’t worry. You see, they are young lovers, aggressive, wild, and still so in love with each other. I am sure that a couple like them could arouse the hidden desire of the Queen.”

Guenzo chuckled. “I hope we will not be disappointed once we know the Queen’s reaction.”

I nodded at Guenzo and crossed my fingers.
