The next day, she arrived at the breakfast table before anyone could, but Agostino sat with the same coffee mug in his hand.

“Morning.” She whispered to which he tilted his head up and nodded in return.

Taking a seat infront of him, Seraphina folded her hands on her lap. “Good morning.” Alfonso erupted from the kitchen with a small smile on his face. Taking a seat opposite to her, he asked, “Ready for tomorrow?”

Arching an eyebrow, she leaned back, confused.

“I meant it’s your first day of school tomorrow, aren't you excited?”

She gave him a shrug. “Don't know.”

Eying her sleepy face, he didn't ask anymore.
