The beast's territory

Valentina’s P.O.V

“Woah! This house is so freaking big.” I muttered to myself as I stared around the huge living room, it was like a house out of a movie scene, as soon as the closing bell rang, I quickly changed out of my clothes and I came here immediately.

I hope I get the job.

“Good day,” My head snapped in the direction of the voice and I got up immediately to greet the man dressed in a neatly tailored tuxedo standing in front of me.

He simply nodded and the security men behind me left us alone.

“You are Ms. Valentina, right?”

 “G-Good Afternoon,” I stuttered. “Y-Yes, I am Valentina.”

“I’m glad you were able to make it, you are a bit ahead of time, it is quite impressive.” A small blush reached my face at his compliment. “Unfortunately, Mr. Israel is yet to come back from work, however, he requests you wait for him in his study.”

He turned on his heels and began to walk away, he didn’t even care if I was coming with him or not, I hurried after him and followed him across the large hallways.

The house was big and majestic, just like a palace, I could tell whoever owns this house, is so fucking rich and I wonder if tutoring such a spoilt rich son would be as easy as I thought.

He stopped behind an oak door and punched some code at the security before he opened the door, the room had four black leather cushions and a center table in the middle.

Then there was a long metal shelf close to the window at the rear end of the room and just across the room was a huge mahogany desk; the papers on the tables were neatly arranged, and an intercom too.

Rich people have it easy, don't they? I was told to sit and wait for my employer, the man who did not tell me his name handed me a glass of water just in case I was thirsty.

“Mr. Israel will be here soon.” He told me before he exited the room, I sniffed the water trying to perceive any added chemical.

“You are the one who signed up for the job?” I heard a deep voice just as soon as the door opened and my eyes met the stranger's green eyes, they narrowed softly at me with a sweet smile.

“Oh my… how lovely you are.” He approached me and a nervous smile spread on my lips. “I apologize for the wait.”

“That's not a problem.” My smile widened.

“I am Israel Lords.” He outstretched his hand for a handshake and I took it, for some reason, this man wasn't as I imagined.

Despite being rich, he seemed nice and welcoming, I thought he would be lordly and authoritative; I imagined him to be like my classmates.

“Please sit down.” He offered.

I couldn’t help but notice this man's distinct features, he was probably in his forties but despite his age, he was still very handsome. I was smitten by a strange familiarity; I think I had met him somewhere before but I don’t remember where.

He rubbed his jaw slightly, as his eyes scanned through my CV, I hope he doesn't find anything odd about my CV.

“So, you're twenty-three years old, you look quite young for your age.” He squinted his eyes at me and I felt my heart hammer fearfully in my chest. “That's a good thing.”

“T-Thank you, sir.” I stammered.

“I know the vice Chancellor of Hope University,” He flipped to the next page nodding in satisfaction. “Your grades are quite impressive.”

“You flatter me so much, sir.” I chuckled.

“My son and I are never on good terms; he is quite stubborn but as a father, I can't help but be concerned for him.” Mr. Israel narrated in a sad voice. “I think something has been going on with him recently which has caused his grades to fall drastically and at this point, he would be unable to graduate high school this fall.”

If he is graduating this fall, then he would be in the same grade as me. If he is as kind as his father, then we could probably be friends.

“I need someone who can make his grade improve, especially in math.”

“I will do my best, Mr. Israel.” I declared.

“Well, then you are hired.” He relaxed his back into the chair.

Wait, just like that? He isn’t asking me to prove myself or anything, he is simply hiring me based on the results he had seen.

I am so lucky.

“Thank you, I promise to not disappoint you.” Tears welled in my eyes, finally! I can move out of Ron's house.

“Tim, my butler, should hand you the necessary documents, please fill them out before you leave.” The corner of his mouth raised in a smirk, and that action reminded me of Ethan. “My son isn’t back from school yet, he has swimming classes, I would love to introduce you to him.”

Ethan…

My heart quickened in my chest just why did I think about that bastard in a place like this?

The door behind me opened and someone strolled in, he stopped as soon as he noticed Mr. Israel wasn’t alone.

“Great timing! I wanted to introduce you to your new tutor,” Mr. Israel got up with a small smile.

“I told you I don’t need a tutor, father.” I heard a very familiar hiss, one that made all the hairs I had behind my neck stand up. “If you don’t know what to waste your money on, then donate them to charity, have you seen how ridiculous that ad is? Any gold digger could waltz in here any minute.”

That voice… No, it can’t be!

“Come on don’t be rude.” Israel snapped and I got up almost immediately to confirm my suspicion. “Ms. Chandler please pardon me, meet my son, Ethan.”

“Dad, do you have any idea what you brought home?” He teased as he closed the distance between us, he was smirking wickedly at me, and even though I was wearing glasses and a wig, he recognized me right away.

God, no, please, let this be a dream, tears well up in my eyes as I stared back at this man helplessly, I was in trouble no matter how Ethan chose to handle this.

“Ethan I will not tolerate any disrespect towards Valentina.” Mr. Israel scolded him. “She is much older than you are, so please show her some respect.”

“Hello, Val.” Ethan extended his hand for a shake. “I look forward to learning so much from you.”
