CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Vincenzo

It wasn't drizzling no more, and I stood proudly, gazing at the sky. It was a starry night, and a dazzling sight indeed.

I took a long gulp of my wine, as I leaned on the balcony rails. It'd be my sixth cup yet, and I was feeling tipsy already. I twirled the cup, my grip on the cup was strong.

'Quit being stubborn. It wouldn't be unusual, if you showed up to see her, Vincenzo.' Ray growled lowly.

'At what expense? Is my daughter falling out with me and her friend? You know how Lila is.' I sighed and throwing my head back, I took another hearty gulp.

'You'd only visit her, there's no big deal in that. Lila wouldn't mind.' Ray protested.

I took a sip of my wine, pondering on his words. 'I refuse.'

'Your excuse?' he retorted, almost fiercely.

'If it isn't a big deal, why then are you pestering me to go?' I asked, in a sharp tone.
