CHAPTER TWENTY THREE

The morning was a fairly Sunny one and I woke up on the right side of my bed. I did not have any cause to be worried about anything and I did not worry, truly.

I was down for breakfast a bit earlier than usual but as always, Ella and Lila were there before I joined them.

They were not talking neither were they eating. I reached the head of the table and they both greeted me.

From the moment I walked in, Ella's gaze had started to shift uneasily and she tried not to meet my gaze. I wondered what if she heard anything Contessa had tried to do with me the previous night before stomping off.

Did she hear the heavy footsteps on the hallway or had she been asleep when Contessa had left?

I didn't want to worry my head. Ella usually minded her business and would have perhaps not paid any attention to footsteps or try to make sense of whose steps they were.

"You two look really beautiful today."
