Surprise

Chapter 3

Around 8:00 pm, is when Amber reached her home and pulled into her garage. She had a strange feeling all night and it did not go away when she woke up, or when she got into class. So later she planned on checking on Henry again and word on his family. Still no answer back from parents to her or the Principal Baker.

However, good news the twins and sister were in school and are staying with Aunt and Uncle. They didn’t know what happened with Henry or their parents either.

Amber decided to go by the place that Henry was found and realize it really wasn’t far from school grounds. In fact, it was only a block away and there was a mural he must have been painting on 2 of the walls of the building. It wasn’t complete of course, but it was shaping into a beautiful picture. The area around there was kind of vacant and dull, which only had a few businesses around. He had captured children playing, the stores that are there and were there once before, along with different festivities like parties or events that had happened in the past. One was about done with full color and the other was just an outline of what it will look like to be. She saw old paint cans, brushes, and tarps on the ground near a few dumpsters. It wasn’t an Alley per say, but more like a corner of a lot with 2 buildings adjacent to each other. It could have been a parking lot for visitors, again this area has lost a lot of business so there aren’t many places around her and scarce with people around in this area he was painting. She was shocked how much he had done, on a large scale, and how good Henry was. Then she heard footsteps coming being her, so she spun around.

            “Oh Natalie, how are you?”

“Hello, Mrs. Park, what are you doing down here. I never thought to see you or anyone teacher come down here.”

“Oh, I remember this place well. We used to come here to get ice cream and soda when we were little and there was the old fashion Soda Joint across the street. I thought I come down here to see why your brother was down here. Maybe to understand what happened to him.?

“You should be down here; it isn’t safe for you. If they knew they you were here, they may hurt, you as well.”

“Who would hurt me, Natalie? The same people that hurt your brother?”

“I have said too much, you need to leave. If they see you, it could be dangerous for you and maybe both of us.” Natalie started to walk away. However, she didn’t get far before a Dark Figure jumped in her way.

“Natalie, did you bring me a treat? Aww how thoughtful of you.” The Dark Figure spoke to Natalie in a low, growl of a voice.

“Hey, who are you and what do you want? Leave her alone!” Amber yelled out after the man.

“Well, aren’t you a little thing. All that beautiful red hair and those green eyes. I must admit you look and smell just as tasty too.”

“Run Mrs. Parks, Run!!!” Natalie screamed as he tossed her to the side, and she landed a good 5 feet away on the ground.

“Oh, Hell No!” Amber whipped out her pepper spray and sprayed the Dark Man in the face. It also had a bit of a secret sauce mixture she made herself too. It burned and made the Man fall to his knees. Then she kicked him in the head and whipped around with a back kick after. She ran over to Natalie to check on her. The Dark Man got up. Mad of course, and now coming at her again. Natalie was hurt but she would be okay, well if she was able to get them out of this. She noticed the Man was very pale and he had the darkest, coldest eyes she seen. Well, she has seen in a very long time. Natalie urgently told Ms. Parks she needed to run; he would kill her. Amber stood up and braced for the Man to come at her. Just has he was about to grab her, she moved very fast out of his way, dodging his reach, and flipping around to be behind him. She grabbed the back of his hooded cape and reveled more of the monstrous sight of him. “Damn, you are on ugly Vamp, if I ever saw one.” Amber pulled him back and down, then delivered a blow to his chest and head again.

The Man jumped up, not as fast as he might have. He noticed he felt slower and not as strong. “You bitch! Who are you? Do you know who I am or who I work with?”

“No! I really don’t care. If you see one monstrous, blood sucking Vampire you seen them all. I am nobody.”

“Your dead that is what you are!” He again lunges for her but fakes her out and grabs her by her beautiful, long, curly red hair. Then throughs her across the small lot toward the other wall and trash bins. He chuckles as he did it and wipes his mouth. Damn she made me bleed. No one makes me bleed. He then takes off running to finish the red hair thorn in his back.

Amber regained herself, shook off the ache in her head from her hair nearly being pulled out of her scalp. She notices he was coming and new she didn’t have much longer before her secret sauce wore off. She looked around and saw a rusty iron rod lying next to the trash bin. She reached for it and threw it right at him. It pierced his chest in mid-flight, and he landed just in front of her. He grabbed the rod and chuckled. “I am a Vampire bitch! This can’t hurt me. I untouchable.”

She cocked her head to the right and gave off a smirk. “Wait for it! Yes, you are touchable, and you Prick.” Then he burst in dust like he was never there. Between her secret sauce and the rusted iron rod, it was the only thing that would kill a Vampire.

As she walks over to Natalie and dust herself off, she reaches for Natalie. “Come on, let’s get you home to your aunt’s and you can tell me all about why you were here, what that Vampire has to do with you, and why was he such a nasty mood.”

Natalie looked at Ms. Parks and laughed. “Ms. Parks I would have never guest in a million years you could kick some butt, and Vampire butt to boot. That was Awesome!”

“Well, when I was younger, we did a lot of kicking butt, but we thought all the bad Vampires had left for good. I guess I was away too long in school and haven’t been back here in a while. This is not good if they have become overpopulated with the Vampire gangs again. I gave it up when I got married and moved out of state for a few years.”

“I am sure glad you are back. Maybe you can help us.”

“Natalie why do I have a feeling I am not going to like what you are about to tell me.”
