Lucian’s POV

The sink ran red before the water finally cleared the blood stains on my hand. My knuckles stung, but the sting was nothing compared to the itch in my chest.

I’d punched him until I saw bone, then ended it with a bullet which as always was clean and efficient. After killing the man, another had tried to stand up to me.

The fact that dead bodies dropped at every meeting I attended displeased me but these men acted like princesses so someone had to always die in order to teach the others a lesson.

The vibration in my pocket cut through the silence, I shoved my hand into my pocket and took it out.

It was a message from a private number.

"You derive pleasure from putting bullets in people huh? You're next and I promise that you won’t see me coming.

I smirked at the screen, jaw tight. “Get in line,” I muttered, tossing the phone aside. Only a pussy sent death threats. If you have scores to settle, come up to me.

When I stepped out of the bathroom, my chest froze when my eye

  • Velvet and vengeance: stripped by the enemy    CHAPTER 185

" New Proof" Dimitri's POV The insides of the warehouse held a rotten smell, like a heck of a dish had been left out for too long. Every breath I took felt laboured, a small reminded that I was not yet fully accustomed to being alive again. I moved through the rafters, careful not to make any sound. Below me was the payment site of the Pale Oath. A hole of crates and discarded machines. Finding this place was just a matter of tracing the money. The word 'ancient' when used to describe the group wasn't just for fancy, they kept to traditional ways of business, so much so that they didn't take digital cash, so a meeting point for exchange was needed. I watched minutes ago as a recent exchange had gone through. Maraleona wasn't the only bounty they had it seemed. I dropped from the ceiling, landing in a crouch that sent a jolt of pain I hadn't expected. I really needed to get used to my body moving again. But I didn't care about the pain, it wasntanythubg I couldn't handle after all

  • Velvet and vengeance: stripped by the enemy    CHAPTER 184

"First Death" Third Person's POV Presently, the world thought of Dimitri as a dead man that could possibly be walking the earth again. Before that, he was a figure that exuded dominance, respect and fear. But before he got to that point, he was just a boy. One with wide eyes and a smile equally as bright, one that looked at the world with wonder, curiosity and a hope for more. Eventually though, his eyes were closed. There was a day, one he would never forget. Dimitri's heart kept eating, but he died that day. His father had called for his presence. Young Dimitri was already quite weary of his father, but that fear would soon turned to deep loathing. The older man looked at him with an expression he couldn't quite read, but he hated it."Young Sir," A guard called out to Dimitri who was just sitting in the library, trying to read. "The master calls for you." He said, not meeting Dimitri's eyes. Djmutri stared for s moment before closing the book with a sigh. He walked over to the

"A Broken Oath"Jace's POV The media was a weird thing. One minute you could be laughing at a funny animal video and the next your jaw is on the floor as you watch a video of your old friend rising from the dead. "This is clearly fake, right?" I was sure about it. It had to be a fake. Another ruse to rile up the crowd and keep that distracted from the force's actual plan. I shook my head at the absurdity and desperation. But back to the actual happenings. I was still trying to find the supposed "heir" but I'd run into more than just a little obstacle. It was a wall of familiar codes that made me click my tongue at first sight. Everything concerning that dead man left a bitter taste at the back of my tongue. I tried to crack the code, and for a while, it seemed like I was making progress, until I went back to look at my progress and noticed every code I had cracked had been rewritten. Every single line that once made me look at someone with admiration now left me angry. Weren't th

“Silent Rescue”Dimitri’s POVI was crouched against a soot-stained ledge. I looked undisguisable from the stone statues that littered the roof, just as I had wanted. I tried my best not to breathe too hard. The fact I had woke up was phenomenal enough. I was slowly getting used to the mechanical rhythm of cold air going in and out of my lungs. It was truly good to be back. Several feet ahead of me was the fortress Maraleona had built for herself. I could tell just how hard she had worked just by looking at it. It was a testament to her ambition and desperation. The perimeter was guarded by men in tactical gear, professional and alert, but they were looking for threats they understood. They were looking for soldiers. They weren't looking for a ghost. And they certainly weren't looking for what was currently scaling up the western wall.I squinted my eyes at the movement. It was faint, especially against the dark o the night. Something moved with a terrifying, fluid grace. They bypas

  • Velvet and vengeance: stripped by the enemy    CHAPTER 180

“Random Tuesday”Maraleona’s POV Thinking back to my father and Dimitri, I thought back to that time. Dimitri’s father had wanted to arrange a marriage that would strengthen their political stand. Dimitri was having none of that. He trashed around, blatantly refused and acted in ways his father could not ignore. The old man was just about to toss the idea into the trash when my own, beloved, father brought up the idea. Me. I would marry Dimitri. At the time, my family name was one to reckon with. We once stood toe to toe with the Bianchi house, exchanging pleasantries, something low level families couldn’t even dream of. But then, my father fell to illness. As he succumbed to the ground, as did our family reputation. The marriage was called off. Dimitri’s father tried his best to look apologetic as I stood before him, still in mourning black, but I could tell it was rehearsed. I was enraged. Whether from his words or my father’s death, I couldn’t exactly pin point it. My hand gr
