Chapter 17

“Enough talk!” Caleb roared and led his men into the fray.

However, as the ambushers came in force, Caleb was finding it somewhat more difficult to deal with them as he also had to keep an eye on Ember.

Ember watched the fight while maintaining her vigilance throughout. When she saw one of the thugs take out a knife, her eyes suddenly narrowed and she yelled, “Watch out!”

Caleb reacted in an instant, held the knife with his hand, then kicked the man away.

Ember was in a panic as she saw the blood in Caleb’s hand, her feelings thrown into disarray.

She then joined the battle as well. She grabbed one of the thugs by the arm and threw him to the ground over her back.

Caleb’s hand was injured, but it didn’t affect his actions at all. As he worked with Ember and his bodyguards, they managed to defeat them quickly.

“I remember your face for interfering with this. You won’t be so lucky next time!”

The men in black even barked out a threat before leaving.
