6: As The Moon Rises

The man whose arms were crossed was standing in front of me now. I can smell him from here. No one spoke a word since we went inside the hut. I was just staring at those burning eyes. This is the first time I saw something like this. I had seen red eyes before but his was just fascinating. I couldn't take my eyes off of him.

"Stop staring at him." Diane told me, glaring. She's still trying to look over at me, scared that I might do something horrible, which I have never thought of doing.

I still don't know what kind of person they are.

"Why are you here?" Sebastian, as Diane called him earlier, asked the woman in front of me.

She felt uneasy after hearing him, squeezing her fingers in her palm. She looked so tense. "I just want to make sure you are safe," she said with her most calm tone, far from how she speaks to me. This Sebastian had my curiosity craved. Who is he? And why does this woman seem to be afraid of him?

"I don't need your protection." He replied to her. Well, as I can see. I think he really doesn't need it. He seems so strong, his aura's telling me that. But what happened earlier bothers me, is he sick? I want to ask these questions but my mouth remains shut.

"You haven't come back for 2 months. We are all worried about you. And now…" she looked at me with disgust in her face. "I even saw you with a woman. Where did you get her?" The way she asked it, feels like I was just trash that can be taken and thrown anywhere. Do people really think I am like that?

"Since when did you learn to question me?" Sebastian crossed his arms while looking coldly at her.

Wait. Are they in a relationship?

Oh no.

I don't want to ruin anything about them.

"S-Sorry. I am just curious." Now, she's like a child. I really don't know what's happening right now and why I feel like I need to comfort this girl beside me.

We are currently inside the hut, this Diane sat beside me and didn't leave my side.

"Go now." He commanded her. I sighed in relief hearing that since I can't breathe properly around her. "Take her with you." My eyes widened when he said that. I even pointed at myself.

"M-Me?" I asked. Sebastian nodded his head.

"Wait. What? Why do I need to take her to that place? She's not one of us!" Diane stood up. Yes, I am not. So, why?

"Just do it, go at night." That was the last thing he said to end the conversation and then left us here.

"I hate you." Diane turns her head, she's gritting her teeth while clenching her fist. I can really feel it.

There's a moment of silence between us so I tried breaking it.

"I am Analisse." She did not even bother to look at me. She just sighed and continued checking her nails. I think she doesn't have any plans to talk to me so I just scanned her. She has this red curly long hair and her skin was pale white. Her eyes are mint green and she has pouty natural pink lips. She is shorter than me, she also looks younger. Her pointed nose, I like it. It reminds me of Samantha. I bit my lower lips. Whenever I think of her, it still pains me in the chest. But now that I am with these people, I can't show my weakness. I don't want anybody to use it again against me. But what caught my attention the most, is the scar under her right eye. It's not that big but also not small, I didn't notice it earlier.

"Done checking me out? I know I am beautiful," she said, bitterly.

I smiled. "You are."

After saying that, she looked at me, frowning but I could see a bit of amusement in her eyes. She avoided my gaze after she saw that I was smiling. "I need to go outside. Wait for me here until night, don't fall asleep. I won't bother waking you up." She hurriedly went outside after and I was left alone again.

Time flies so fast that I didn't notice it's already afternoon. Diane told me not to sleep but I can't help it. My body's still sore.

I guess they haven't come back yet. I bit my lips after feeling my stomach, it's in need of food.

I decided to go outside but I haven't seen Sebastian and Diane. I looked around, there's a bunch of woods here. I guess this was Sebastian doing the whole day. I walked around the place and saw a small way to the woods. I followed it and it led me to a lake. Its water was so clear so I went near it to drink some, I even washed my face.

I also felt the need to pee at that very moment so I looked for a secluded spot to go and free myself. There's no one here, so no one will see me. But while I was doing my business I heard some voices not far from where I am.

"You need to go back now, Prince. We need you, the pack needs you." It was Diane's voice.

Pack? They are wolves? But I can't feel them. I thought they were some kind of creatures but not wolves. I think there's something wrong with me or they were just so good at hiding their presence. Maybe that's why Sebastian knew the first time he saw me, that we are the same.

"I already told father, I would not go back until I find Nick." Who's Nick this time?

"But the news told us he is already dead! We haven't seen him for months, he knew the way back and he never did." Diane tried to calm herself, but I can feel she's losing it. There's a moment of silence after that, I just remain where I am and continue listening to them. "Brother, listen to me just this once. I don't want to force you but the pack wants you to go back. You are still under observation, we need to ensure your safety so everything needs to go well as planned."

Brother? They are siblings? And what plan are they talking about? I really can't understand but I kept on listening.

"I am not interested in that title. Go home and tell them I have a business to take care of. I would not stop until I saw his dead body." He is an heir, I see and he's not fond of responsibilities, given that he can leave them for months. However, he is doing something important for him.

I heard footsteps after that, maybe they were leaving.

When I thought they were not here anymore, I went outside where I was hiding.

"What are you doing here?" I heard him, it was Sebastian's voice. Does he know I am hiding, trying to gossip about their personal matters? I looked back at him and smiled awkwardly. I saw Diane behind him, she's holding a basket of fruits.

"I…I was just looking for something to eat." I told him. I wish he buys that reason to let me go.

"Let's go back." I nodded my head at him before following. I even saw Diane glared at me. I just ignored her. I know she's not comfortable having me beside her dear brother.

"Eat then prepare for leaving." Sebastian told me after putting the basket on the table.

"Where am I going?" I asked him before he could go outside the hut. I know exactly that he was pertaining to his home but what I want to know is what kind of people I will be dealing with.

"You're safe there. No one will not hurt you." He assured me. I am supposed to be thankful he is adopting me, but I don't feel like I am safe without him, especially that Diane is still giving me that look, she can grab my neck anytime.

"I told you, they will surely question everything about her. How am I supposed to tell them that she's a rogue? We even don't know where she came from and what kind of background she has." Diane finally said the words she had been holding since earlier.

"Tell them she's my new servant." Sebastian commanded, then left us here.

"His what?" I asked, surprised.

"You're lucky he made you one. Many beauties were dying to get a spot." Diane replied to my question.

I took an apple and sat on the wooden bed. All I can do is sigh. Maybe this can be a new start for me. I think being his servant isn't that hard.

"Let's go to the Blood Moon Pack."

I think all of the blood inside my body went up to my head, trying to not believe what she just said.
