Ronnie’s POV

“Two hours?” Jessie blurted out. “What the heck are you supposed to do with two hours? I mean, that’s not even enough time to pack your clothes and handbags.”

Jessie kept on ranting. Her tone remained sharp as ever. She even looked more frustrated than I was in this weird-ass situation.

“So what do you intend to do now?” My mom asked, her expression was that of worry mixed with confusion.

Unfortunately, my brain seemed shut at this point, and it was almost like I could no longer reason. Nothing was just coming forth.

I just sighed and got up from the chair, heading towards the fridge to grab myself a cold bottle of water.

“Hmmm…” A mocking sound came from the corner of the room.

My eyes lifted to follow the sound.

Of course, it was one of them.

Despite the fact that the TV was on, I heard the sound of their mockery, and I knew it had nothing to do with what they were watching.

My eyes ran over my stepmother, who sat in the middle of the living room. Keisha sat by her, too. I have no idea why she is here, though. I mean, didn’t she just get married?

“I really can’t believe this is happening.” Jessie sighed, her hand wrapped around her.

I lifted the bottle to my mouth, letting the cold liquid go right down my throat. I just needed something cold, something to keep me from burning up.

“Don’t just stay quiet dear… tell me you’re going to do something about this. Please, Ronnie, tell me you won’t leave with him.” My mom’s continuous ranting got me stressed out. I set the bottle down in anger.

“What on earth do you think I can do to stop this madness from happening?”

“He is… The fucking Lycan King, Mom. Even your gaddem Alpha and the Elder tremble at his feet, so who the heck am I to oppose him?”

“The Ronnie I know always finds a way out of every mess,” Jessie added, her voice a little softer than before.

“Maybe not this time.” I said dismissively, making my way towards my room.

“The Lycan King is most likely making a mistake cause why on earth would he want someone like Ronnie?” Keisha said, sounding like she was speaking to her mom, but of course, I knew she intended for me to hear it too.

“Or maybe he just wants her as a breeder. I doubt she’ll even do well as one.”

The anger that I had been trying to hold in seemed to finally spill. And before she could even add to the insults, I was in front of her. My hands landed heavily on her face.

Everyone looked at me with shock on their faces.

“How dare you lay your hands on me…” She stood up furiously, her hands lifted as she tried to hit me back.

I grabbed her hand mid-air and pushed her to sit back down with her mother.

“You probably thought I was joking the last time, right? Try me again, and I won’t hesitate to slap you one more time.”

“Ronnie!” Elizabeth growled.

“Don’t!” I snapped back. “If not for your daughter, I wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place. She stole my spot as my father’s favourite, and as if that wasn’t enough, she seduced my mate!”

“It’s not my fault you can’t please a man.” Keisha lashed back, still holding onto her hurting cheek. “I’m sure the Lycan King will return you before the week is over.”

I lunged towards her again, but before I could hit her, I could feel two heavy hands holding me back.

“Let me go, I need to teach this bitch a lesson!”

“Just let them go, they’re not worth it.” My mother said as she struggled to hold me back.

When she had finally gotten me a little away from where Keisha and her mom were, she released her grip on me. “From now henceforth. You two, stay the fuck out of my business.”

“That would be my last warning to you.”

With that, I stormed towards my room.

“Finally, Ronnie… You don’t know how long I’ve waited for you to put that brat in her place.” Jessie said behind me, her voice filled with excitement.

As soon as I got into the room, I collapsed into my bed.

“How many minutes left?” I asked, looking at the ceiling.

“About thirty-five minutes left.”

I closed my eyes.

Should I just wait for fate to play me dirty the second time, or should I…

The banging of the door got me flying up from the bed.

Jessie stood frozen, eyes fixed on the door.

The banging came from the main door, and it didn’t stop for a while. Then suddenly, silence followed.

“Could it be him?” Jessie whispered.

“Shuuuu…” I said to her, placing a finger on my lips.

“Where is Ronnie?” His voice rang through the house

“That’s unmistakably Elisha’s voice. Could it be that he escorted the King to get me?”

Jessie’s eyes flicked to me. “I’ll check…” She said, already heading for the door.

“What are you doing here?” I heard Jessie confront him from the living room.

“Move out of my way, I’m here for Ronnie!”

“But baby, what do you need her for?” I heard Keisha say in the background

“Move!” He yelled, his hurried footsteps getting louder.

Where do I hide myself now? I thought, my eyes scanning the whole room.

I knew hiding was a waste cause of course, he could smell me. But nevertheless, I quickly fit myself into my wardrobe.

“Ronnie!”

“Where are you going? You’re not allowed in here.”

“I can obviously smell you in there. Come out and don’t waste my time!” He said, his tone filled with impatience.

I could finally hear his footsteps in the room, as well as the voices of my mom and Jessie as they tried to divert his attention.

Without even giving me a time to breathe, the door of the wardrobe fell open.

“Wardrobe… Really?” He shook his head.

He yanked me out recklessly.

“What the heck is wrong with you?” I yelled at him while trying to shake his hand off me.

“You’re coming with me!” Elisha growled, already pulling me with him without my permission.

“Of course, you sold me to the King,” I said, trying to catch my breath.

“So tell me… How much did you sell me for?”

He paused, looking me dead in the eyes. “I would rather die than see you with another man.”

Jessie’s POVFinal Day“I was really hoping we would raise our children together.” I said as I relaxed on the bed exhausted from our visit to the hospital. “What do you mean? We can still do that, you know?” “You can come over and we can…” I didn’t let her finish speaking, I stood up, grabbing her into a hug. I held her tight for a moment too long, she didn’t pull back either, just let the silence and the heaviness in the air breathe.I didn’t know when I started tearing up, I only realised when I felt the wetness of Ronnie’s dress cold against my cheeks. She pat me gently as she finally pulled away, wiping the down of her eyes as she met my gaze once again. “I'll miss you so much, Ronita.” I started, allowing more tears to fall freely from my eyes. “There will be no need for that, honestly. I will talk to the King about it. I’ll see how to make him agree to it.” She insisted. “There’s no need for that, Ronnie. Of course I’ll come to visit, but I can’t leave my mom behind.” Sh

  • WANTED! KING NOLAN'S OBSESSION.   163: El-Korah

Ronnie’s POVThe suitcase lay open on my bed with just a few clothes inside. I was still here wondering what to keep and what to take with me. As much as I wanted to feel comfortable enough there, I also wanted to make sure I don’t give my brain the impression that I’ll be staying longer than needed. I stood over the suitcase for a long moment, just staring between the suitcase and the closet. I made my way towards my closet and pulled out a few of my clothes, running my fingers over the fabric before placing them inside the suitcase. I got lost in thought as I began to fold them. ‘I'm leaving the palace soon, I was really hoping to see you before I leave.’ I don't know why those words from that text two nights ago suddenly popped up in my head again. Though I still left it unread, I couldn't just bring myself to stop thinking about it. Nine unread messages, from the same unknown number. I didn't need to verify to know who it was, I knew. And he proved me right. After the fi

Olivia POV“See you soon,” the voice on the other end said, already sounding excited about the night ahead.I smiled, admiring my reflection in the mirror, until the next sentence dropped.“Oh, and don’t forget your plus one.”I rolled my eyes so hard even when I knew she couldn’t see me.“Why does it matter if I come alone or not? It’s a fucking birthday party, not a wedding.”“I don’t know, Ollie but that’s what everyone is…”That was where I cut her off.“Ollie?” The other end went silent for a moment, she knew what was coming. “Let this be the last time you call me Ollie, Okay?”“Yes, your highness.” She replied stiffly.“I think I’ve become so lenient with you all, that’s why you think you can address me however you like.”Mena didn’t seem pleased but she didn’t complain, instead…“I’m sorry for the slip. I’ll get going now.”Before she could even end the call, I ended it myself. Before now, I never cared about whatever they called me, up until…“Calm down Ollie!” I muttered to m

Sloane's POV"I still don't understand why everyone is acting so chilled with Ronita's return..." Olivia complained, taking a bite of the fresh fruits the maids had just picked for us in the garden and prepared into a small serving of fruit salad."...or are you guys telling me that you've all given up?""Or maybe it's that Ronita has won you guys over as well?"She kept on yapping and yapping till I could barely hear what she was even saying or the point she was trying to raise."Here, my lady." A young maid said with a bow as she dropped the freshly squeezed fruit juice I had asked for.I took a sip of it and then dropped the glass, still looking into a distance as I watched the Kingdom members go about their day."Get me some of that!" Olivia said to the retreating maid before turning back to me."As I was saying..."Another yap session started, continuing for as long as possible. The maid finished squeezing the fruit juice and came back to serve us and Olivia was still talking lik

Levi's POV"You there!" I called, beckoning one of the Kingdom's informants. He looked around like he didn't think he was the one I was actually pointing at first."Me?" He said, before looking around.I didn't have to say another word, just kept staring at him with an intensity that made him realise he was the one I was truly calling. He walked up to me, bowing."Good day, My Lord..." He bowed once again. "How may I serve you?""What did Desmond ask you to research for him?""Desmond?" He repeated, brows raised."Are you intentionally trying to act dumb?" I snapped at him, my patience already wearing thin."I'm sorry your highness, it was just instinct. I didn't realise you were referring to Lord Desmond."My eyes went over his pleading figure for a brief second before I spoke again."I saw you both last night, whose information were you giving him?""My Lord, Lord Desmond only asked me to help him with the profile of people that visited the King some days ago and that was all I did

159Reuben's POV“Who the heck does she think she is?” I muttered, staring at the unread texts.Three texts. That was how many I had sent since I found out she was returning to the palace, and she had replied to exactly none of them.I set my phone face down on the desk, rolling my eyes at it for a moment like it had personally offended me, then picked it back up and checked the screen again out of habit, already knowing what I would find.Nothing.I put it down again. The first text was simple. ‘I heard you're coming back.’ Just enough to let her know I was expecting her without outrightly saying it. She ignored it.The second one, I had waited about a day or two before sending it, which was already longer than I usually waited for anything. She ignored that one too.The third one I sent yesterday. I hadn't planned to send a third. I had told myself two was already more than I would normally bother with, that if someone didn't respond after two attempts the correct thing to do was
