Miguel could not sleep. His head was full of Alvarez and what he had done. Each time he closed his eyes, he saw Ximenna tied and scared. It made his anger worse. He sat in the living room with Leo and Camila. Papers, maps, and notes were spread across the table. They had gone through everything, but nothing gave them the desired answer.

Leo leaned back in his chair. “We should move now,” he said. “If we wait, Alvarez will move her.”

Miguel shook his head. “We can’t run blind. That’s what he wants. He is waiting for me to rush.”

Camila crossed her arms. “But sitting here is no better. He has Ximenna. Every second matters.”

Miguel rubbed his face. He knew she was right. But if he made a mistake, he could lose Ximenna for good. He looked at Leo. “You said you had something. Even if it’s small.”

Leo nodded. “One of Alvarez’s men was seen near the south end. There’s an old factory there. Maybe he is keeping her there. If not, it’s at least a meeting spot.”

Miguel stood. “Then we go. Tonigh

Miguel drove fast. The road was quiet, but his chest was heavy. In the back seat, Ximenna’s father lay weak, barely breathing. Leo held his arm, checking his pulse again and again.“He’s not stable,” Leo said.Camila kept her eyes on the road behind them. “We can’t go to a hospital. Alvarez will find him in seconds.”Miguel’s hands tightened on the wheel. “Then where?”Leo thought for a moment. “I know someone. A doctor who doesn’t ask questions. But it’s risky.”Miguel looked at him in the mirror. “Call him.”Leo pulled out his phone and sent a quick message. The screen glowed in the dark car. A reply came fast. He looked up. “He’ll meet us. Safe place. Not far.”Miguel drove harder. The engine roared as they cut through the empty roads. In the back, the old man coughed weakly. His body shook with every breath.“Stay with us,” Miguel said over his shoulder. His voice was steady, but his eyes burned. The old man whispered something, but it was too soft to hear. After twenty more minut

The three of them stepped out of the car. The air felt heavy and quiet. The two guards noticed them right away. They lifted their weapons, pointing them toward Miguel and his team.“You can’t be here!” one of the guards shouted sharply.Miguel raised his hands slightly, showing that he wasn’t holding a weapon yet. “We need to see him,” Miguel said. “It’s urgent.”The guards shook their heads. One of them stepped forward. “Turn around. Leave now. You don’t belong here.”Miguel stayed where he was. “We’re not leaving.”The guards lifted their guns higher. “Last warning!” the taller one barked.Miguel’s jaw tightened. His eyes narrowed. Every second wasted here was another second Ximenna was in danger. He gave the smallest nod to Leo.In one quick move, Leo pulled out his gun and fired. The shot hit the first guard in the shoulder, making him fall back with a cry of pain. At the same time, Camila sprinted forward, moving fast and sharp. She kicked the second guard in the stomach before h

The three of them left the old house in silence. Miguel walked ahead, his boots crunching on the gravel. He didn’t say a word, but Leo and Camila could see his anger. It wasn’t just anger—it was pressure, fear, and something darker.Back in the car, Leo finally spoke. “So, what now? We keep chasing empty houses until Alvarez gets bored?”Miguel’s jaw tightened. He hated hearing Alvarez’s name, but she was right. He turned his eyes toward the road. “We don’t chase. We make him come to us.”Camila raised a brow. “And how do you plan to do that?”Miguel didn’t answer right away. His thoughts were on the message: Find him if you want her alive. Whoever Alvarez was, he wanted Ximmena’s father. That was the weak spot, the bait. Miguel knew if he wanted to save her, he would have to step into the game. They returned to Leo’s warehouse, the place now feeling less like a hideout and more like a war room. Screens lit up the walls. Maps, lists of names, old pictures of business partners and frie

The morning came slowly. Miguel had not slept. He sat by the window, watching the sky change from black to grey to pale blue. His thoughts were heavy. Every hour that passed felt like a loss. Ximmena was out there, and he could not reach her.Leo walked in first. Her hair was tied up, and she looked ready for action. “You didn’t sleep,” she said.Miguel shook his head. “Couldn’t.”Camila came in next, carrying her laptop. “I’ve been looking through company data,” she said. “Not much. Your friend hasn’t called yet?”“No,” Miguel said. “But he will.”Camila sat down and opened the laptop. “Let’s start with the names we found last night.”Miguel nodded. There were six names on the list. Old friends of Ximmena’s father. Some business partners. Some family friends. People who might know something.Leo picked up the first name. “Oscar Valencia. Who’s he?”Miguel leaned on the table. “He’s an old lawyer. Used to handle their contracts. If anyone knows something, it’s him.”“Call him,” Leo sa

Miguel sat on the edge of the bed, his hands rubbing his face. The room was quiet, but his mind was loud. He kept thinking about one thing—Ximmena’s father. He had not seen the man in years. He was powerful, rich, and always in control. But then, he stopped appearing in public. No events, no meetings, no pictures. Nothing. It was like he vanished on purpose.Miguel remembered the last time he saw him. It was at a party for one of the company’s biggest deals. The man stood tall, dressed in a dark suit, speaking to important people. Ximmena was beside him, smiling like everything was fine. But later, when Miguel spoke to her alone, she said something that stayed in his mind.“He’s leaving everything to me. He wants to disappear for a while.”Back then, Miguel thought it was a joke. But now, it made sense. The man left the world and trusted his daughter to take over. No one questioned it because the company stayed strong. Ximmena made sure of that. She worked like crazy to keep things in
