98. A TICKING TIME BOMB

Once the first light of the sun touched the sky, my eyes automatically flew open like they had placed an alarm in my brain.

I did not move for a while as I told myself to enjoy her warmth for a few more seconds. I listened to the way her heart beat and I tried to memorize it.

When I had my fill, I lifted myself slowly from her body and found my old clothes. I stopped by the bed again and leaned over to kiss her.

She murmured in her sleep and this brought a smile to my face before I changed into my own clothes and walked out of the room.

Ocean shifted within me as if to protest with me on why I had chosen to leave my mate's side. It was simple, I had unfinished business to attend to. The world was not yet safe for my mate so I intended to do whatever was necessary to make it so.
