Back at their inn, Uno sat cross-legged on the sofa. After returning from Waikiki Beach, Manuela went straight to the bathroom. Uno watched her go.

Uno sensed Manuela was still deeply shaken by her near-abduction. He shuddered to think what might have happened had he not reached the yacht in time; the image of finding her at the mercy of those men, subjected to unspeakable acts, sent a chill down his spine.

It was the first time Uno had been so enraged on behalf of someone else. Seeing Manuela's distress and tears had clouded his vision, and his immediate impulse was to end the lives of the men who had tried to violate her.

"I lost my cool when I saw her crying; that's weird," Uno muttered, turning on the TV, where a news report about the yacht and the three bodies found there immediately appeared.

"They fucking deserved it anyway," Uno commented, turning to Manuela, who had just come out of the bathroom in a t-shirt and shorts he'd provided.

Uno turned off the TV and stood up.
