CHAPTER 39: IMAGINATION

"Now, do you still want to help me?" Alice asked the question, knowing that his answer would change.

She smiled. She doesn’t feel bad or anything. Leaving wasn’t really her first option anyway. Using anyone to protect herself wasn’t part of her plan either. By the time she finishes her last mission, she will also leave the quarters, and whatever happens next will be her problem.

Johan couldn’t answer. With Alice’s situation, there was nothing much they could do to help her. He doesn’t even know if anyone else would be willing to help her after the incident with their group. Clarisse became famous for being the only survivor in that massacre, but she wasn’t really proud of it, while Johan still regrets that he wasn’t there for his comrades.
