CHAPTER 40: YOU

"Fine. I will gather some men to search the forest. But still think it was a wolf that tried attacking you. You’re lucky you managed to survive."

Van’s eyes widened. He remembered that man saying that he was lucky because it wasn’t his time yet.

True to the hunter’s word, he gathered men, and they quickly searched in the whole forest while Van stayed in one of the hunter’s houses.

"Here, eat some soup to warm your body up. You’re pale as a ghost." It was the wife of the hunter who found him. She put down a tray containing a bowl of soup and a slice of bread and two eggs. He gladly accepted the food as he could already hear his stomach rumbling since earlier.

Van gave her a warm smile, "Thank you so much." he said before devouring his food.

The woman’s eyes widened, "Slow down, it’s hot."

Van felt the heat in his mouth but still smiled and swallowed the food, "It’s very delicious. Thank you for the food." He forced to speak and maintain his smile. He was really grateful for the hospita
