Addison’s POV

Hayden and Shofia had gone home a few minutes ago. After their departure, I sat silently at the dining table after putting the rest of the tarts into the fridge. I'm still thinking about what Hayden said about Damon. I had to ask Dad about it because it was so important, making me angry about what that man had done to my family.

I didn't realize that behind that man's generosity was something I never expected. No wonder Damon recognizes me. He intends to take my heart, so I don't know anything about what he did to Dad's company.

"Addison."

I snapped out of my reverie, then turned and smiled at my father, who sat before me.

"Why do you look like you're thinking about something? Did something happen?" Dad asks. I could see from the look on his face that he looked worried.

"Did you know that Damon Saunders destroyed your company?" I asked him matter-of-factly because that was what I wanted to know immediately.

Father seemed to nod his head. "Yes, that's right."
