Ethan.

I stared out into the night, gripping the window ledge harder than I should’ve. Couldn’t see much—just shadows pressed against more shadows. The bedroom I’d chosen faced west, toward the valley’s main entrance. In the daylight, I would’ve seen everything: the rim, the slope, the river cutting through it all like a dark vein. But now? Just black and more black.

Still, I knew where she’d gone. I’d heard Aurora leave. Heard her steps, soft but certain, circling around the house toward the creek. I didn’t need to see her to know. I could feel her out there, as clearly as if my body was tuned to hers.

I pictured her—running. Ivan’s bright gypsy skirts around her waist, tangled in the wind. Those long, gorgeous legs moving fast. God.

“honey?” Ivan’s voice slipped into the air behind me, warm and dangerous. I didn’t turn, but I felt her, bare and confident, pressing her chest against my back. Her hands were everywhere—one sliding down, gripping me through my jeans. I was hard, yeah. B

Aurora.I stared at my phone again. The screen was still blank. No new messages. No calls. Nothing. With a heavy sigh, I tapped Kaiser’s name and hit call again. One ring. Two. Five. Straight to voicemail.“For the hundredth time,” I muttered under my breath, lying back down on the bed with a groan. I should’ve just thrown the phone across the room already. At this point, the rejection stung more than I wanted to admit. Why was he this angry?I replayed the whole thing in my head. Over and over again. Kaiser barging into my room last night, his eyes practically glowing with rage when he saw Ama tucked into my bed, asleep. The moment I told him she was staying at the palace now, his expression changed, like something inside him snapped. He hadn’t even given me a chance to explain. Just turned and stormed out, the door slamming so hard behind him the walls shook.“She's my daughter,” I whispered to the empty room. “And she’s Ethan's too. Why is that so hard to understand?”I sat up slow

Aurora."Ama, please just sit still for a second.""But Mommy, I still don't get it!" Ama bounced on the bed, her tiny legs swinging off the edge as she hugged her plush wolf to her chest. Her dark curls were wild around her face, cheeks flushed from excitement or maybe curiosity. “Who is Alpha Ethan really?”I sighed, combing through her hair with my fingers, gently detangling the ends as she wiggled beneath me. Her voice carried so much energy it practically buzzed in the air.I hesitated. The words formed in my throat, thick and heavy like honey refusing to pour. But this talk was long overdue.“He’s your father, Ama,” I said finally, quietly. She twisted around so fast I nearly dropped the brush. “Wait what?! Like… my daddy?” Her eyes widened like twin moons.I nodded slowly, waiting for the storm to hit. “Yes. Alpha Ethan is your biological father.”Ama stared at me, blinking. Her bottom lip trembled for a second, then stilled. “But… why didn’t you tell me before?” Her voice wave

Kaiser.I blinked into the dull gray morning as my phone's shrill ringtone pierced through the remnants of a hangover. The damn thing was vibrating on the glass nightstand like it had something urgent to say, and for a second, I contemplated letting it rot there. But then a leg draped over my hip and a groggy voice groaned beside me.“Mmm… is someone actually calling you this early?” the brunette, Mila, or was it Maya? mumbled, rubbing her eyes. The other one, the redhead, flipped to her side and threw the covers over her head. “Tell whoever it is to wait. We haven’t even had breakfast.”I turned toward her slowly, processing her words. “Wait… what did you just say?”She peeked out from under the sheet, smirking. “I said it's too early, and we haven’t had breakfast. You paid for the full night, didn’t you? So chill.”For a full second, I just stared at her. Then I laughed. Not the good kind, the kind that comes from something deep and twisted, the kind you don’t control. I stood up, n

Aurora. The first thing I noticed was the buzzing.Low. Persistent. My phone.I groaned, pulling the blanket tighter around my body, hoping to drown it out. The morning light hadn't even fully spilled through the curtains, and my limbs felt too heavy, like I was swimming through sleep. My hand reached out instinctively, not for the phone, but for Kaiser. My fingers brushed empty sheets.I froze. My hand searched again, blindly, desperately. The cold side of the bed was always his territory. But it was vacant. Neatly tucked, as though no one had even laid there last night.“Kaiser?” My voice was barely a whisper, hoarse with sleep. No answer. Just the buzzing again, now louder. Urgent.I sat up straight. A thick knot formed in my stomach as I grabbed the phone off the nightstand, expecting to see maybe a message from him.But my screen exploded with missed calls, texts, and a voicemail notification, all from one name: Ama's School. My breath caught. A chill ran down my spine.I tapped

  • Wanted by my ex mate    Chapter 21

Aurora.I sat curled on my bed for what felt like ages, my arms wrapped around my knees. The world outside had shifted, my damp hair had dried, and the sunlight was fading fast. I didn’t even know what I was feeling anymore. So I just stopped trying to feel. Thinking had only brought pain and confusion, so letting my mind go blank felt like the only peace I could find.I leaned back, pressing myself against the cool wall, my eyes fixed on the locked door. I was completely still, as if frozen by exhaustion that went deeper than my bones. I turned slightly, hoping to glimpse the sunset, but the window view was blocked as I should’ve expected. The encircling cliffs of this lifeless valley loomed outside, hiding the sky. Darkness was creeping in.Then the smells hit me, thick, spicy, mouthwatering. Something was frying, something rich and hearty was simmering. My stomach twisted with longing. I sat up straighter, almost against my will. I couldn’t remember food ever smelling that good. Th
