Laila

The workdays passed in a blur. There was someone constantly lingering in the back of my mind, but I kept pushing the thought of him away. It usually worked, but he kept coming back. He was annoying me even when he was not around. Was he? I tried to dig into the truth, but it didn’t matter. He was occupying too much space in my head.

I wasn’t the type to obsess over men. My life didn't rotate around them, I enjoyed living my life alone, with friends, but he—James—was persistent, but I didn't need an intruder.

I usually checked social media on weekends, but today, I was bored and needed something to distract me. Scrolling through my feed, I saw a friend request. Guess who it was? James Montgomery. I scrunched my nose and frowned my lips.

I clicked on his profile, and there he was—muscular, in a tight white T-shirt, sunglasses, smiling that perfect smile. Summer tan and all. It was ridiculous how handsome he was. I sighed. Why couldn’t he be ugly? I asked the sky again. I could lick

  • Warrior's human mate   Chapter 82

JamesI was frantic in my emotions and my heart was beating so fast. How did my mate manage to get herself in such a big sh*t I will never know. But somewhere subconsciously I knew that her big mouth and brutal truthfulness would get her in trouble sooner or later, I guess today was the day. When Alpha boomed down the link "Your mate is in trouble. Packhouse. Now", I ran like never before in my life across the field from the training ground. I just dropped a message through the mindlink for another warrior to continue the training and shot further with all the speed that my wolf supplied for me as he was equally worried about our mate. When Laila stepped out and started to walk towards Klaid, who was seething, I saw his fists were tight, and he angrily clenched his jaw until, at one moment, he shifted to his wolf, who growled equally angry. On pure instinct I wanted to follow, but Alpha put a hand on my chest.- Wait. If he truly attacks her, we will both step in.Alpha said lowly. I

LailaI woke up slightly disorientated as I took in my surroundings. Right, I'm at the pack house of werewolves. Though it will soon be a month since I was here, it still felt strange to say it. I stretched like a cat and lazily looked around the room. It was empty as usual, as James should be at training now, or maybe he was sent to another mission; I'll find out soon. I looked at the ceiling mindlessly and remembered the walk in the forest with James and later with his wolf yesterday. I loved his wolf's fur, he had such a soft coat, I just wrapped myself around him and buried my nose into his wool. He had the animalistic smell, but it wasn't that bad. I softly smiled at the memory.I sighed, it was still strange, even weird and partly unbelievable that he was a werewolf, that I now lived in a werewolve community. As most of the time I spoke with their human parts, it felt like I was surrounded by humans, it felt normal, but every time I saw a wolf or someone shifting, it still felt

JamesA moment of silence fell as everyone turned to Laila, watching her expectantly. I couldn’t help but wonder if she was about to back out of the challenge. Then Laila twisted over me to look at the Alpha.“I think it’s great that you’re spending more time with pack members. People talk about it—warriors, omegas—they’re happy. It means a lot.”The Alpha nodded. Then she turned to Fay.“Fay, thank you for trying so hard to look after me when James isn’t home. I see you as my sweet little sister. Your personality still feels like a bud just beginning to bloom, and I truly hope you’ll let yourself grow into the beautiful flower you’re meant to be—doing what you love and becoming who you truly are.”She said it to her, making me think about my sister and her personality. I always thought she just did whatever she wanted—maybe even a bit of a spoiled brat.Fay blushed, murmured a shy “thank you,” and looked down at her lap. When did she get so shy? I thought. Maybe Laila saw something I

JamesI entered the packhouse, my nose instantly guiding me toward the lounge where her scent was the strongest. Even before I saw her, I could feel her through the bond—warm, present, mine. My heart clenched with longing.I pushed open the doors, my focus narrowing solely on her. A genuine smile broke across my face before I even realized it, and it grew wider when Laila’s features softened and she smiled back just as brightly. She was happy to see me too.I dropped onto the couch beside her, trying not to let it show that I wasn’t thrilled she was sitting so close to our unmated Alpha. Still, I let it slide—for now. Instead, I pulled her close and inhaled deeply, her scent making me dizzy in the best way. I sighed contentedly and pressed a kiss to her lips, her eyes gleaming up at me.“Speak of the devil…” I heard Lucas mutter under his breath.“Am I the devil now?” I asked, arching a brow at him. He just grinned.“Were you gossiping about me?” I pressed.“He was prying into our rel

Laila “Do you like it here?” Kate interrupted my thoughts.“‘Here’ as in this living room with your cozy little werewolf crew, the whole supernatural neighborhood, or are we talking about the entire city or country?”“This pack. The packhouse.”“Well, it feels like I am back in the dorms. It’s… okay,” I replied.Kate still looked unsure.“I’d prefer living in my own place. Helps me rest and recharge. But I get why James wants me here, so… what can I do? I’m just a guest.”“Is that really how you feel?” Kate looked surprised.“Yeah. Were you expecting a different answer?” I chuckled nervously. I can say it again—I really can’t stand being fake, but it seems like my honesty isn’t always well received around here.“I guess I hoped you’d say you felt great here.”“Sorry to disappoint,” I said softly.“So, you don’t feel like this is your new family?” Fay asked quietly.I looked at her. “I’m human. You’re all supernatural creatures. It’s a little hard to relate.”“So, you don’t feel like p

LailaSo, this was my new routine. I ate meals with the pack, worked until evening, and then tagged along with Fay—on the days James wasn’t coming home early, which, let’s be honest, was basically every day. I managed to convince her to have a walk around the parkgrounds before we hit the lounge. Most of the time, I stayed quiet and just listened as everyone chatted about pack life, training, and the latest gossip—who improved in sparring, who met their mate, that sort of thing.Lucas and Kate would usually try to pull me into the conversation, and depending on the topic, I either flowed with it or it flatlined faster than a bad date.I wasn’t used to being constantly surrounded by people. All that interaction was starting to wear me down. The more drained I got, the quieter I became—until I was basically running on grunts and head nods.As we walked into the lounge, I made a beeline for the corner next to Lucas. I was officially over sitting beside broody Ayden. Fay followed and squee

Laila“So, Laila, what do you do in your free time?”Lucas changed the subject abruptly, and I was grateful. I glanced at Fay and smiled—this topic had come up between us before. In weird but perfect synchronicity, we both answered:“Pick fungus.”“Play piano.”That made Lucas turn to Fay with a frown.“Pick fungus?”At the exact same time, Ayden turned to me, confused.“Play piano?”And then Fay looked away from Lucas, turning to me, surprised.“You play piano?”The perfect timing made most of the people—sorry, werewolves—chuckle, including me.“Wait, start with the fungus,” Lucas demanded, nodding toward me.“It’s nothing. In my country, we have a lot of forests, so when late summer and autumn come around, people go out to pick mushrooms. I grew up in the middle of the forest, and since my mom still lives there, we do it every year,” I explained with a shrug.“We know all the best spots for chanterelles,” I added with a snobbish face and a theatrical hand gesture.“Really?” Kate aske

LailaIt was Wednesday evening, and I was still typing away on my laptop, trying to finish the last few tasks, so I could wrap up within half an hour. James was off on yet another secret mission and wouldn’t be back until late. I didn’t know what I’d do with my evening, but that didn’t mean I wanted to keep working just because I had no plans.A soft knock startled me. I glanced at the door. Who could that be? It wasn’t dinner time yet, so probably not Kate."Come in!" I called from the sofa, hoping I’d left it unlocked. The handle moved but the door stayed shut."Ugh, seriously?" I muttered, setting my laptop down and hurrying over. When I opened the door, I blinked in surprise."Hey! What a surprise," I said as Fay waved at me with a soft “Hi.”"Sorry, I was working and too lazy to check the door. I thought I’d left it open—my bad." I chuckled awkwardly as she smiled politely."Come in, come in!" I opened the doors wider as she timidly stepped inside the room."Normally, I’d offer te

LailaJames pulled my panties off and teased me with his mouth. When his tongue flicked over my clit, I gasped and clutched the sheets. But then… he tried something else. Something that didn’t quite hit the mark.“What are you doing?” I asked, propping up on my elbows.“I’m tongue-fu.cking you,” he said with a grin.I frowned. “That’s… kind of gross.”“Gross? No way. You taste amazing. I just want to please you in any way possible.”He replied smiling while brushing his fingers over the erogenous zones on my thighs, making tingling sensations and distracting me.“Okay, but your tongue’s too short. It doesn’t… feel like much. And it made me uncomfortable. Just stick to what works. Licking my clit is amazing.”I tried to convince him there was no need for strange experiments. Good old things worked just perfectly for me. He grinned and pulled me closer, diving back in. His tongue flicked faster, making me moan and fall back into the springy mattress.“Is this what you love?” he asked hus
