Heavy Goosebumps

Her boyfriend had given her a phone which she was supposed to hide, that phone brought pain in her life.

It ought to be on silence all day and night, hide it where no one could see it, received calls in private and after hours, it wasn’t nice at all really.

They used to chat at night, with her man, it was really exciting for her. Especially to know that he still bothered about her even after what had happened, so by that, she had the mentality that it was true love.

Her mother summoned her in the evening of the day after the incident had occurred in her bedroom, she felt so bad, and she was wearing a short skirt so she wondered if her mother was going to see that she had been a bad girl.

She thought of going to wear pants but she brought herself together, went brave and went to her mother.

Surprisingly for her, her mother did not say anything, she came out of that room excited that all the theory she has heard all her life wasn’t true😇.

She thought she was crazy herself, that’s when she stopped fussing about that, never went back to that silly thought.

Her new phone was always under her bra, always on silence, always received privately and always received after hours.

They never stopped calling, texting, meeting and making love with one another,  not intimacy but doing everything to reveal love to one another, they found everything they did fun more than anything. It was becoming more of a habit for them, a very good one at that.

Candice enjoyed every bit of what they did together, she was no longer afraid anymore but she was afraid of doing the "deed " without protection.

She knew that if she was to do it, pregnancy can occur and that would be the end of her, her parents would kill her, actually she would have to kill herself before they would😁.

She was just an adopted orphan, she wouldn’t afford to take care of the baby and she knew that would kill the dreams and castles she always builds daily.

She was a good day dreamer, and am sure everyone is. Her dream was to grow to be this independent, beautiful lady who own various businesses there and there, own shares everywhere, her work being attending meetings there and there wherever she had shares.

She loved cars, big ones at that, (creta, Jeep, Rovers, Land Cruisers), this cars were her weaknesses, she always imagined herself stepping out of them with her long straight Peruvian hair.

Her dream was to own a mansion in a mansion, adopt one or two kids, have an orphanage, she had a heart for the less privileged, she really did.

Adopting had always been her wish ever since she was 12. She knew she was going to be able to take care of the less fortunate children because her heart always melted for them whenever she saw one, and with her emotionality, she would just break down and down.

Marriage was also part of her dream like every girl out there. She dreamt of a tall good looking guy,a white dude, or one who was lite in complexion, caring, romantic, kind, humble slim sized, modern one who is up to standard, down to earth, faithful and honest, one who would be a christian but loves fun and  communication, and smart business wise.

Candice was a hard to please girl, she had to be like that, I mean after all she was born on the month of June. She liked her birthday month, she loved June babies, and she had a soft spot for them too, this month just made her crazy.

There came a time when she had to meet her guy on a Friday after school, she called him countless times but there was no response, nor answer, no apology text, she got so disappointed, very disappointed on that note.

She felt rejected, alone and couldn’t stop thinking why he had to pull a stunt like that when they had bluntly planned that their meeting for the day was on.

She couldn’t stop trying to call him, text him until she got tired and went home emotionally drained😑.

She couldn’t even do anything, not even doing her favourite chore which was washing dishes, she was in inexpressible pain. She pulled herself together and acted normal again.

In the evening she called him and luckily for her he answered, she got relieved, she really did but as she talked to him she wondered why he did not bother calling her immediately he thought of switching on his phone, but that didn’t matter anymore.

It was winter already, July, was almost over when she realized she had missed her period, I mean really now😉. She was a student, young and had strict parents, how could that even be possible.

She remembered that they once or twice went intimate without protection and that pinned her down like nothing else.

The only thoughtful expressions she had was that she never had a clue on how her guy was going to react if she told him she was pregnant.

She asked herself if he was that serious about his love, if he really cared, or if he only felt sorry for her just because she was an orphan.

She wasn’t really an orphan, but maybe she was, I mean she saw it like that. She had lost her biological father, her biological mother was on a sickbed ever since she was twelve the memory of knowing  her mother before she got sick was always glued in her mind.

She always remembered that the last time she saw her on that period it was the time when she had cooked porridge and green leafy vegetables.

She had that remembrance that her mother even greeted her using her full name, she never forgot that voice, she hardly heard it after all, only once or twice a week when she visited, in addition to that she hardly visited.

She wasn’t used to the rural life, she would get dehydrated, never wanted rural water, hated the sun so bad, and that made her life of the rurals beyond boring, She never knew and understood the importance and value of a family, she felt so comfortable with the life of town and the family she was with, and life was just perfect for her, well until God knows when.

What if he rejects me, what if he leaves me and gets another girl? Those were the questions that spinned in her mind all day, all night.

She tried by all means to avoid them in school because of her hilarious friends, but as soon as school knocked off, all that came back to her again.

She thought that if the suspicions were right, then her dreams were going to be broken like strings of a broken guitar.
