Chapter 2

Andreas pov

 I walked to my room after having a life-changing discussion with dad. I love my parents a lot. I can even die for them if I had to.

 That's why I can't say no to their marriage proposal. 

 They have raised me, made me successful. Everything I am right now is because of them.

 I am 28. I had to get married at a certain point. So it's not a big deal, but still, I want to know who this girl is beside she is still in school. That means she is a teenager. I signed, I can't change anything even if I want to, and as I promise my dad, I would treat her properly, and I will take care of her. 

 But loving? that is something I am not sure I can do.

 Lia pov

 I sit beside my dad. My Mom died when I was just 5. I don't even remember her. That's why dad is my everything; my world revolves around him. I took three jobs, quite my school. Well, I need my father more than I need the school.

 Thought about a world where dad is not with me is dreadful. I can't even imagine it, no, I don't want to imagine it.

 I spend all my day at my jobs and night I cry beside my dad bed.

 Today he made a life-changing decision for me. I can't say no to him, not when his eyes were pleading for my acceptance.

 All I know is he a successful businessman and my future husband. I don't remember anything about him.

 How would be my life with him?

 Next day, Mr Smith visits his son with papers in his hands. Marriage papers.

 Andreas looked at his dad, confused. 

 "Get done with it, son. I visited the hospital today; he had an attack last night. I know I have been unreasonable for a while. But please understand me. "Mr Smith said pleading.

 Andreas just nodded and signed the papers.

 Later that day, Mr Smith got to the hospital. He showed papers to Lia who was sitting beside her dad." Lia signs it" her dad said. "I don't have much time left. I want to be sure you are safe with someone who can protect you so I can die easily and peacefully." Mr Miller sobbed.

 "Dad, please don't say that. You are not going to die. You are going to stay with me. "Lia cried.

 " Lia, baby, we know that that's not going to happen. I am dying. You know that right. Now please be a good girl and sign the papers. "

 Lia sobbed but signed the papers anyway.

She was no longer Miller Lia; She was  Lia smith.

------------------ Lia woke up in the middle of the night with an uneasy feeling. She saw her father was sleeping peacefully. She was thirsty, so she went out for the cooler that was placed in the corridor. When she went inside, she noticed that there was no heartbeat sound from the machine. Her entire world crumbled. She ran to get the Doctor, almost tripping twice on her way. Doctors came rushing and made Lia stay out of the room. Lia was panicking. She immediately called her uncle Smith. after ringing twice, uncle picked the call. "Uncle-e, dad-d, dad-d, he is-s not breathing-g. "She cried out. " Lia breath for me. I'll be there in 5 minutes. " True to his words, Mr Smith came in 5 mins, but he came with someone else. Lia rushed to him, crying her heart out. Mr Smith just tried to calm her down, trying hard to hold his tears but fell miserably. Both of them were crying mess. Andreas just stood beside them feeling sorry for the younger girl. The Doctor came out, all three turned to him. "I am sorry. He didn't make it." Two sentences, so strong that it can crush someone's world. Lia collapsed on the ground. _______________________________________ After a few days. Today was the funeral day. Lia was sitting beside her father's coffin. She wasn't crying. As she was tired of crying. She wasn't feeling anything. Too numb to this world. Andreas was there worried about this girl. She was young, too young. Andreas didn't know how to approach her. Mr Smith held Lia when she tried to stop the people when they start to lift the coffin. She broke down in her uncle's arms. She lost her only family that was left. How is she going to survive on her own? When the ceremony was done, Andreas saw how the other males were drooling over Lia. Even if he is married to the younger, she is still a young girl. He has to do something about that. _______________________________________ Its been two days after the funeral ceremony. Lia stayed at her house for two days, but today Mr smith called her saying that she would be with Andreas today and he would here to pick her up at any moment. She doesn't have many belongings, just some clothes, some money (which are just some dollars), and photos of her and her parents. She was sitting on the only furniture that was in her hall, that was a cheap wooden chair. Waiting for her husband to pick her up. Husband. She doesn't even know this man. How is she going to spend her whole life with someone who she doesn't know? She wants to argue with her father. Why did he forced her to get married, did her dad didn't believe that she was capable of taking care of herself? _______________________________________ Andreas pov Today early in the morning, I got a call from my dad saying that I have a day off. I was about to say thank you when he told me to shift that girl to my home. I don't want anyone in this house. I am used to being alone. How am I going to cope with my Wife?

I got up slowly made my way to bathroom. Slowly brushed my teeth. Slowly got changed. Slowly made myself a breakfast. Slowly eat my breakfast. yeah. I did everything in slow manner. I don't know if I am scared  or angry or nervous at this moment. I didn't asked to get married. I didn't asked to be able to shift that Wife to my house. Everything was being decided for me as if my life was being controlled.

I made my way to Millering lot, unlocked my car and got in. I started driving to the address my dad sent me, again I drived Slowly.

Authors pov

Lia heard a knock, she made her way to the door. She opened the door just enough to know who is it,when she saw Andreas, she opened the door wide,letting him in.

"Lia,   are you done with all the packing? " He asked to which Lia nodded." Then shall we head to mom and dad's home? They invited us for lunch." Again Lia nodded.

Lia made her way to the door, she stop turn to look at her home. She wanted to cry again but she didn't. She didn't want to cry,All she did was cry since days. With heavy heart she locked the door and went to the car. Andreas was already sitted at the drivers sit. Lia got in the front seat. Andreas began driving. The drive was almost 1 hour and it was awkward enough therefore Andreas started the radio.

Entire drive Lia stayed silent. 

Not even daring to look at Andreas. 

Andreas was doing the same as well. 

They are like strangers travelling on a public bus. . As Complete strangers.
