The two got the kids settled for the time being with his parents and assured Henry that they would be back soon, and everything was okay. Max’s father took him out back to the yard where he had put up the playscape that he had told Henry he would be getting while he was in the hospital.
“I told you I would get it.” Max’s father told all of them as he smiled. “Now, maybe there will be some joy in this house when it comes to children.”
“Thanks, Dad,” Max said with a smile as he took hold of Deanna’s hand and led her out of the house and to the car. “We will only be gone for an hour or two. You don’t have to worry.”
