Alessandro POV

2:05 AM

Inside the Club

The crowd surged again as a new beat dropped, bass thunderous like a war drum in my ears. But all I could see all I could ever see was her. Sarah.

She was back on the dance floor, after that drink she threw down like it was oxygen. Still spinning, still punishing me with every move of her hips.

And then, May God decide to test me,

A Man showed up. He stood tall, elegant, possibly in his late thirties, wearing a midnight-blue shirt that fitted snugly around his chest. He appeared self-assured, arrogant. Sarah didn’t shove him aside. She grinned. She gave him a smile I hadn’t witnessed in months, gentle, welcoming, the smile that was once mine.

My jaw locked. I stepped forward instinctively, but I caught myself. She wasn’t in danger.

No.

She was making a point.

He leaned in close. She tilted her head, lips brushing near his ear as she said something, probably nothing, but he laughed, like she had just whispered the secret to eternal youth. Her hand r

Alessandro POVThe stillness in the vehicle was overwhelming. Sarah sank into the passenger seat next to me, her head resting on the window, the cool glass misting a bit from her breath. Her makeup was a bit smeared, the warmth of alcohol coloring her cheeks, and the subtle sparkle on her collarbones still reflected the dashboard lights with each streetlamp we passed beneath. She remained silent not a single word. Only the rare interruption of a breath, the soft whisper of silk as she moved. I held the wheel more firmly than needed, my knuckles pale against the leather.Ester was securely placed in the other vehicle behind us, with the driver directed to return her home I didn’t want Sarah to deal with any more tonight no questions, no judgment, no lectures from her best friend. She was spiraling and I couldn’t pretend I didn’t have something to do with it.The night kept replaying behind my eyes. The way she moved on the dance floor. The deliberate sway of her hips. The teasing glanc

Alessandro POVSaturday Night:11:12 PMThe message came through on my secure line a subtle vibration against the polished mahogany of my desk. A single word lit up the encrypted notification: "Movement."I tapped to expand it.Sarah Darell. Location: Club LUX, Midtown Manhattan. Confirmed entry 10:36 PM.The picture that taken after wasn't gem clear, but it didn't have to be be. Her outline, indeed in a low-resolution capture, was unmistakable. Dark dress. Long legs. Hair down. I stared at the screen, my pulse beginning to thrum beneath the surface. She went out. To a club. Dressed like that.I should have deleted the message. I should have shut off the tracker, the one I swore I would only use to ensure her safety. But I didn’t.Instead, I grabbed my jacket and was out the door before the next breath finished leaving my lungs. The black car tore through Manhattan, my driver weaving through traffic like a man with a vendetta. I sat in the back seat, silent, seething. She was danci

Sarah POVSaturday NightHis hand clamped around my wrist like steel, warm surging up my arm where his fingers held as well firmly to be courteous. Not sufficient to bruise, not however, but sufficient to form my beat falter in its beat."Dance with me," he remarked, his tone soft yet pierced by a pointed implement. There was no doubt. The man I had been dancing with tensed behind me, but I did not turn to face him.Because Alessandro was already pulling me in.The crowd didn’t notice. The music was too loud, all bass and sweat and strobe. Lights flashed across his face like a storm breaking, shadow and silver, rage and something dangerously close to desperation.I tried to tug my wrist free. “Alessandro..”He didn’t let go.Instep, he spun me toward him, his hand moving to the lower portion of my back, drawing me close, as well close, until there was no room cleared out to breathe in. His body squeezed against mine, strong and persistent, his movements think however effective, command

Sarah POVSaturday NightThe zipper scarcely made it past my ribs before I cursed under my breath.“God, why did I let you talk me into this?” I muttered, yanking the fabric back up again.“Because you’re hot,” Ester said, flopping onto my bed with a glass of wine in hand, smirking like she was the devil in silk. “And because it’s been a year, Sarah. A whole year since you went out and reminded the world you’re not just someone’s mother or ex-wife or ex-lover. You’re you.”I looked at my reflection. The black dress was a second skin. Silk, low cut, sleeveless, with a slit that flirted dangerously high on my thigh. The kind of dress I would’ve worn two years ago without blinking. Before Gabriel. Before my body changed. Before the marriage, the betrayal, the heartbreak.“You can breathe, right?” Ester teased.“Barely.”“Perfect.” She got up and fixed a strand of my hair behind my ear, her eyes softening.“You’re not hiding tonight. Not behind corporate armour, or mom jeans. No blazers.

  • Wedcuffed   Chapter 250

Alessandro POVThree days laterI stood outside her apartment building, the wind biting through my coat. Spring in the city was a liar sun above, frost beneath. My hands were in my pockets, gripping the leather box like it might break if I held it any tighter. Three days since the courtyard. Three days since Adrian and I had drawn the line neither of us could erase.I hadn’t seen Sarah for long time. She hadn’t answered my texts. Not after the boardroom. Not after Marcus Lang. Not even after I sent flowers to her office with a card that said nothing but “Forgive me for the silence that screamed.”Nothing.Now, I was here. The doorman recognised me, hesitated, but didn’t stop me. I didn’t even bother with the elevator. I needed the walk. The slow ascent. Something to match the knots in my stomach and the pulse in my throat. By the time I reached her door, I’d rehearsed the words a hundred times. None of them sounded good enough.I knocked. No sound.I knocked again, gentler this time.

Adrian’s POVThe ball thudded dully against the brick wall. Over and over. My palm had long stopped feeling it. My feet were bare against the gravel, the sun sinking low enough to turn the brownstone shadows gold. I hadn’t planned to stand out here all afternoon, but sometimes silence is louder than anything else.I heard the gate before I saw him, the metallic clink of intent. I didn’t need to look to know it was Alessandro. The air around him always changed, static, precise, too controlled to be casual. I caught the ball and turned slowly. There he was, dressed like he’d just stepped off a GQ cover shoot, tailored elegance and sharpened features. Sunglasses pushed into slicked-back hair, coat hanging just right. Like he belonged in a boardroom, not my damn courtyard.“You come to glare or talk?” I asked, more tired than anything.“I came to end this,” he said.I snorted. “You sound like a Bond villain.”He didn’t smile. Just stepped forward like the ground owed him passage.“I spoke

Sarah’s POVMonday EveningThe stroller rolled smoothly down the familiar pavement, its rhythm syncing with the quiet hum of my thoughts. Gabriel chattered delicately, his small hand wrapped around an extravagant giraffe, and for once, I permitted myself to grin without wavering. The sun filtered through the spring canopy above, dappling the walkway with warmth. The city was alive but soft around the edges, the noise dampened under the golden hour haze. These walks had become sacred. A breath between boardroom battles and late-night feeding schedules. A ritual that reminded me of who I was without the noise. Without Alessandro. Without Adrian. Without any of the shadows clinging to my name. Out here, pushing my son through the city I helped conquer, I could remember who I really was not the woman they tried to break. But the city never lets peace last long.I was three blocks from our favorite café, just turning the corner onto Amsterdam when I heard it high heels and higher voices. T

  • Wedcuffed   Chapter 247

Alessandro's POVThree months had passed since the chaos. Since Sarah looked through me like I was nothing. Since I made sure Marcus Lang would never speak her name again in any boardroom without flinching. Since I began cleaning up the mess I’d once walked away from. A mess I’d helped create.I wasn’t a man who believed in ghosts. But Mira? She haunted everything. The way she’d slithered into Sarah’s life with a smile and a knife behind her back. The way she trusted up to Adrian, feeding him everything he needed to manipulate Sarah during her most vulnerable time. And the worst part? I’d known she was dirty, long before Sarah did. And I did nothing. I waited.Watched. Calculated. But not anymore. It’s my time now.I had made sure, for three full months, that neither Sarah nor Gabriel could be touched. Discreet protection, ironclad NDAs for everyone even remotely connected to Mira. Personal conflicts, Financial audits, information leaks, evidence surveillance. I wanted to be sure she
