Ch. 40 Augustus

Augustus’ P.O.V.

I traveled to my room without a word the moment I saw the sun shine through the window. I had a damn pain in my back from trying to sleep beside broad shoulder Ares. That bed was too small, and I really should have just slept on the floor. Still, I woke up with a smile, because I hadn’t felt this close to my family in a while.

I think mom is doing better now that she isn’t trying to decipher messages in the sky. She was turning into a mad woman, training us hard, scared of losing us. I think having us in this academy has shown her that we are okay without her. I grabbed a simple t-shirt and some jeans, and went to take a shower.

“Augustus, right?” A small girl with white hair and neon blue eyes stopped me before I could reach my destination. I grumbled to myself, just wanting to wash off the smell of alcohol from me.

“Yeah, that’s me.” I answered her. Her hair was pulled back, showing that the side of her head was shaved.
