Bishop's POV

After Shemika fell asleep, I carefully lowered her head back on the pillow and placed a gentle kiss on her face before stepping out of the hospital.

Of course, the hospital was inside my house, I don't think I can trust Shemika with any other hospital apart from this one in my house.

She meant the world to me now and I don't want to see her hurt.

I slipped back to my mansion and went to my room.

"What a long day." I thought.

I took off my clothes and went to the bathroom to ease my

  • The Nights    True Self

Lexi's POVThe first thing I became aware of was the pounding in my head.A deep, slow throb... like someone was knocking inside my skull from the inside. For a long moment, I kept my eyes shut. I was scared to open them, scared of what I might see. My body felt heavy, my neck stiff. My wrists ached-tight, burning pain that pulsed in time with my heartbeat. When I finally forced my eyes open, everything was blurry at first. Shapes. Shadows. A dim light flickering somewhere above. And then sitting across from me was Bishop. He was sitting right in front of me, not too far. Maybe three feet away. His posture was too calm, too deliberate. He had a gun in his hand, held low but ready, and his head was tilted slightly forward, eyes fixed on me in a way that made my chest feel tight.I swallowed hard, my throat dry as sandpaper. My vision adjusted slowly, and I saw the place I was in.The walls were concrete, damp and stained. The air smelled of rust, mold, and something else... something m

  • The Nights    Blackout

Lexi's POVI had just finished making another post.It was a good one-creepy, detailed, the kind my followers loved.Normally, after I made a post, I always took certain steps. Steps to make sure nobody could ever trace it back to me. I would hide my IP address, scramble locations, and clear my digital footprints. I'd done it for years without ever making a mistake. But this time...I didn't do it.I didn't even realize I had skipped it. My mind was still replaying the images from Bishop's cabinet-the photos of my sister, of that strange man(So called Mr. Saint), and of Bishop smiling with him. I was too distracted. Too restless. I closed my laptop with a sigh and leaned back against my bedframe, not thinking much of it.I still haven't realized what I have done.It totally skipped my mind.Then... my phone buzzed. Not Once, not twice, not thrice. It just kept buzzing and buzzing. At first, I thought it was nothing-maybe a random ad or a delivery notification. But then it didn't stop

  • The Nights    My Twin

Bishop's POVMy heart felt like it was cracking open. There was no escaping it anymore. I had to tell Shemika everything-everything, I mean every fucking truth now.I looked up at her-her face stained with dry tears, and flowing ones, her body bruised from the bastard's attack, her eyes demanding answers.I swallowed hard and began."Shemika..." I exhaled deeply. "That was my twin brother." I finally let the word out.She stared at me like I'd grown horns. "You have a twin brother?!" She asked with the softest tone I've ever heard from her. She was shocked, stunned and maybe startled by my revelations.I nodded. Slowly."Yes. He was dead." Then I paused and sniffed in softly. I tried to hold Shemika's hand but she yanked her arm away immediately."Just talk, don't touch me, Bishop." She yelled furiously."Yes, Shemika. I have a twin brother and he was dead-supposed to be." I lowered my head again then I lifted it up slowly and continued, "Or... at least I thought he was dead. Seven ye

  • The Nights    What The Hell

Shemika's POVI was still smiling, sitting up in bed, waiting for Bishop to return with the surprise he said he had for me. My fingers played with the bedsheet, and my heart was dancing in my chest. What surprise could he possibly have for me? A ring? A puppy? Something big? My mind was running wild. But suddenly-BAM!My door flew open violently, crashing against the wall with such force that my heart jumped. My smile faded instantly.Bishop stepped in.At least, I thought it was Bishop. But Bishop was suddenly acting and looking different now, really different. He wasn't smiling anymore, unlike the way he walked out of the room earlier. His face was blank, cold, almost... lifeless. My brows furrowed. "Bishop?" I called, my voice small and confused. "What happened? Where's the surprise?"His response chilled me to the bone."Of course, I'm the surprise." He growled and this was when I perceived it, he was drunk, heavily drunk. His voice didn't even sound like his usual self. What's

  • The Nights    Surprise

Bishop's POVAs I zoomed into the driveway, I didn't waste a second before bursting into the house, it happened so fast-like a storm. My feet hit the tiled floor hard, making loud echoes down the hallway. I didn't even pause to catch my breath as I climbed the stairs three at a time until I reached Shemika's room. The moment I stepped in, I saw her-curled on the bed, crying softly while the maids flurried around her like worried bees. My heart froze."Shemi... what happened?" I said, breathlessly. All maids suddenly turned toward me, startled, but they seemed glad to see me. "Everyone out, now." I barked, my voice trembling with panic. Without hesitation, the maids bowed their heads and quietly stepped out, shutting the door gently behind them. I turned to Shemika immediately and rushed to her side, dropping to my knees on the floor by her bed.She was wiping her tears, sniffling quietly, still not saying a word."Talk to me, baby... what's wrong?" I asked again, gently brushing str

  • The Nights    Search

Lexi's POVIn the photo, Bishop was standing right beside that same man from Gemmy's photo. They looked like close friends but I wasn't sure. Maybe not friends, probably business partners, but I still wasn't sure.Bishop and the man were smiling in the picture and they didn't seem like enemies. They know each other, in fact, they are friends. So if Bishop knows this same man that was standing next to Gemmy in her photo, does that mean Gemmy had something to do with Bishop's friends?I was shocked and confused. I didn't know what to think now. I didn't want to think wrong."No. No way." I thought.Bishop knows about my sister's whereabouts.Without thinking twice, I brought out the first photo from inside my bra and again I started to compare it with the other one in my hand. Two different photos-one was my sister and a strange man which she seemed happy with, and the other photo was carrying Bishop and that same strange man in Gemmy's photo. So what's happening now?Who's that man?Sa
