Isla~

The crowd had gathered in a half-circle, phones and cameras out, flashes twinkling like stars in the night sky.

A man with a booming voice called out through a microphone,

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen! Let's give it up for Mrs. Isla Moretti!"

The cheers echoed around me like waves crashing on a shore, growing louder as he raised his hand for attention.

I could see him exchanging glances with Dante every now and then, like he was taking permission.

"And now," he announced, his tone playful and grand.

"Help us count down to the official ribbon cutting of the Isla Moretti Shelter!"

I could barely breathe. My fingers curled tighter around the golden scissors placed delicately in my hands.

Dante stood beside me, his palm gently pressed to the small of my back, grounding me.

"Deep breath, amore mio," he murmured.

I looked at him and gave a small, trembling smile.

He was calm. Proud. Present. And that made all the difference.

The countdown began.

"Ten!"

"Nine!"

"Eight!"

Isla~The room crackled with tension as the static on the giant screen flickered one last time before stabilizing. The mysterious figure finally appeared with a skull mask that seemed to glow in the dim light."Good evening, Vegas," the distorted voice echoed through the hall like a cold whisper against the back of my neck.A collective hush fell over the crowd.I could hear the faint tremble of glasses being set down, murmurs turning into stunned silence, and then..."Who the hell is this?" Dante muttered beside me, already pulling out his phone. The blue glow of the screen lit up his face as he dialed rapidly, stepping aside and barking into the phone. "What the fuck is going on? Kill that signal now. Now!"But no matter how many calls he made, the masked man didn't vanish. He only flickered on the screen every now and then."My name..." the man announced."Is Ghost." "And I mean no harm…if you just listen."I frowned, confused. But for some reason, I still listened. There was some

Isla~It's been over an hour already. The soft hum of the limousine and the occasional flicker of lights outside the tinted window only heightened my anticipation. I sat nestled in the backseat beside Dante, fidgeting with the pearls around my neck. My heart raced like it already knew something grand awaited me."Are you ever going to tell me where we're going?" I asked for what must've been the fifth time.Dante smirked, not even bothering to look up from his phone. "And ruin the surprise?"I let out a frustrated sigh, resisting the urge to pout. "You're enjoying this too much.""I am," he admitted shamelessly. "Very much."I narrowed my eyes at him playfully. "You're such a tease.""And you," he said, finally turning to face me."...are very impatient.""I am not!" I shot back, crossing my arms."Really?" He raised an eyebrow. "Then why have you been bouncing your knee for the last thirty minutes like a fat kid waiting for cake?" A mortified gasp left me and my mouth parted in s

  • What The Don Wants   Mafia Queen?

Isla~Over the course of the next few days, Dante had been the absolute best husband.Always thoughtful, doting on me and even leaving really important meetings just to listen to me rant about mundane things. There were times when I would feel very overwhelmed with emotions, and Dante would be there, ready to let me soak him in my tears. He had even prepared breakfast for me on one of such occasions and when I teased him about being such a good cook, I saw him turn red for the very first time.Being his wife wasn't so bad afterall.Today, Dante had arranged for a surprise and had me dolled up in the most beautiful, expensive dress.Whatever the occasion was, he didn't tell me. He wanted to surprise me and I didn't mind.I smiled at my reflection in the mirror, admiring the stunning pearls around my neck; a "small" gift from Dante.Although he was nowhere to be found, even though we were supposed to leave together. Not seeing Dante anywhere around, I decided to go look for Katya, as s

Isla~I wasn't going fast enough. My feet pounded against the marble steps, the frantic beat of my heart syncing with every upward stride. What I just heard, it couldn't be true. Right?"She wouldn't leave."The words kept circling in my head like a prayer I wasn't sure anyone was listening to.I didn't want to believe what I'd heard from Katya downstairs, the hushed whispers, the nervous glances. I told myself there had to be some misunderstanding. But the second I saw Kayla's door wide open, hanging like an abandoned thought, I had a feeling."No," I breathed, the word tasting bitter on my tongue.I picked up my pace, legs moving faster down the hallway, the pit in my stomach growing with every step. My hands were trembling before I even reached the threshold, and then I saw her.Kayla.She was on her knees, a small box on the floor in front of her, neatly folding her clothes and stuffing them into it like it was the most normal thing in the world. Her shoulders were stiff, movemen

  • What The Don Wants   Morning

Isla~The room was wrapped in a lazy kind of silence, the kind that only came after an exhausting, sinfully satisfying night. And I would know because this wasn't the first time experiencing such. But last night. Dammit! Last night.A warm ray of sunlight had just begun slipping through the heavy drapes, casting a soft golden hue over the tangled sheets and the man lying next to me.Dante.My eyes fluttered open slowly, the soreness between my thighs the first reminder of everything that had happened just hours before. Then came the flood of memories; his hands on my hips, his mouth claiming every inch of me, the way he growled my name like it was a curse and a prayer all at once.I turned crimson."Oh God," I muttered to myself under my breath, my face heating up further as every position, every sound, and every whispered command replayed itself in graphic detail in my mind.I glanced to my side, and there he was, sprawled out, butt naked. The sheets barely covered his lower half.On
