Chapter 1

Robin's face went pale as he spread his arms and blocked the container door. "You can't, Madam! Mr. Gibson hasn't signed off on the inspection yet! This doesn't follow procedure."

I looked coldly at the sweat forming on his forehead. "I'm the chairwoman of the Greendale Group. My family's cargo doesn't need approval from a man who married into the family."

I gave the bodyguards behind me a look, and two muscular men stepped forward and dragged Robin away.

Robin kicked wildly and tried to shout, but one of the bodyguards punched him in the stomach, cutting him off immediately.

The engineering team clearly took orders only from me.

They stepped forward and lowered their face shields.

Bzz…!

The piercing crackle of electricity began to ring. Sparks from the welding torch flew across the seam of the container door, lighting the dark port red.

Almost at the same time, violent pounding came from inside the container.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

It was the sound of bodies ramming at the thick metal walls. Clearly, the shameless pair who were having fun inside had heard the commotion and panicked.

Unfortunately, this special freezer container was designed for ocean transport with excellent soundproofing. The little noise that escaped could barely be heard under the screeching sound from the welding.

The bullet comments flooded my vision.

[The two inside are already shaking. They're pressed even closer together down there. They really don't like being separated!]

[The female lead is hugging Hayden and screaming that it's cold. Of course it's cold. How could it not be when her naked buttocks are pressed against metal?]

[Hayden left his suit in the car. He must be regretting it so badly now!]

I looked at the words and could almost picture the scene inside.

Then, I calmly took out my phone and called my mother-in-law. "Mom, the surprise present Hayden prepared for you is at the port. Bring the media and come quickly."

My mother-in-law's sharp, nasty voice came through the phone. "A surprise? What are you up to now? Are you trying to upset me again, Ivy?"

She snorted, her tone turning even harsher.

"Hayden is just as useless. He spends all day revolving around you, and he has no spine. You're nothing like Olivia. She's so thoughtful. She even knitted me a scarf by hand just a few days ago."

At the sound of Olivia's name, my fingers tightened around the phone.

Olivia Hall.

That poor college student I had sponsored for four years. The young woman who called me by name every time she opened her mouth.

When I first met her, the school uniform she was wearing had almost turned white, and one of her shoes had a hole in it.

Her eyes had been timid. "Ivy, I want to study. I want to leave the countryside."

Those eyes had moved me.

I paid all her tuition and living expenses, bought her new clothes, and showed her the world.

After she graduated, I even made an exception and let her join Greendale Group.

I thought I was taking care of a flower growing toward the sun. I was not expecting to nurture a viper that bit the hand that fed it.

How had she repaid me?

By putting on my pajamas and crawling into my husband's bed while I worked overtime late into the night?

By acting sweet and obedient in front of my mother-in-law while badmouthing me behind my back?

"You're right, of course," I forced down the nausea in my throat and kept my voice as steady as possible. "Olivia really is quite nice. That's why Hayden invited Olivia here, too. He said this gift was something they prepared for you together. It will only mean something if you unveil it yourself."

As soon as she heard Olivia was there too, Karen's attitude changed at once. "Fine. Since Hayden wants to show he loves me, I suppose I'll go over. Tell Hayden to wait, and don't let Olivia get tired."

After hanging up, I looked at the container door, now welded tightly shut.

Tired?

They certainly were.

After all, exercising in a place dozens of degrees below zero took stamina.

As I waited, I turned to the operator at the control panel. "Start the pre-cooling system. The journey to Southfrost Reach will take a while. Lower the internal temperature to minus four Fahrenheit for now. Enter preservation mode."

One month later. At the best private nursing home, in the VIP special care ward on the top floor.I pushed the door open and walked in.Three hospital beds were arranged neatly in the room. The air smelled of disinfectant and an indescribable rot.Hayden was on the left. Olivia was on the right. In the middle was Karen, who was paralyzed from a stroke, with her mouth and eyes crooked.I walked to Hayden's bed and looked down at him. He was so thin he barely looked human. His eyes were sunken, and his body was covered in tubes. There was a terrifying centipede-like scar on his chest despite the wound having already scabbed. That was where he had to be separated from Olivia back then. When he saw me, his eyes shook violently, and his heart rate on the monitor shot up at once. He was afraid and furious. He was also begging for mercy.Unfortunately, he could not even move a finger."Honey, I came to see you." I gently stroked his face, my fingertips cold. "The doctor said you can h

There was a rapid succession of camera flashes. This was already going to become tomorrow's headline. It would also become a nightmare no one would ever forget.Blergh…!Many at the scene covered their mouths and retched. What they saw was just too disgusting and terrifying. The two naked "ice sculptures" that were stuck together were giving off an eerie bluish-white glow under the port's searchlights. An extremely sharp scream tore through the dead silence.Karen stared at the two naked bodies, and her mind completely collapsed as her mental defenses finally shut down."Hayden! Olivia!" She wanted to rush forward and hold her son, but as soon as she got close to the container, the bone-chilling air forced her back.It was minus forty degrees Fahrenheit, after all. Karen extended her trembling hand, wanting to touch him, but she did not have the courage to."It wasn't me... I didn't press it..." She muttered to herself, her gaze growing unfocused. "It's my fault… I did this to

Public opinion quickly swung to my side when the people there heard my argument.I raised my head and looked at her with tears streaming down my face, a hint of accusation in my eyes. "You were so happy then. So impatient... You even said it would bring good luck to the company... How could you accuse me like that?"One was the poor wife who had been kept completely in the dark. One was the cheating scumbag looking for thrills. And one was the mother who had pressed the execution button with her own hand.It was clear who was right and who was wrong. The reporters aimed their cameras at Karen, their eyes full of contempt and eager excitement. Some even began whispering…"That old woman has no shame. She pressed the button herself, but she wants to blame her daughter-in-law now?""Exactly. She was so happy just moments ago, like she couldn't wait to announce it to the whole world.""She froze her own son and goddaughter... She's going to be famous in high society now."Their v

In the instant that everything in the car was revealed, camera flashes and shutter clicks went off without restraint. The reporters were like sharks scenting blood, pressing their shutters repeatedly."Is... Is that Olivia's dress?" Karen reached into the pile of clothes with a trembling hand as she picked up the pink floral dress. Her hand stopped in midair, shaking as if she did not know whether to pull back or keep going. She had taken Olivia to buy that dress just last week. She had even praised Olivia for looking like a little fairy in it. Now, that same dress was found with her son's clothes in a place like this.Suddenly, I let out a terrified scream as I quickly covered my mouth. Tears began rolling down instantly. "Hayden's clothes are in the car... Olivia's clothes are here, too... Then… Where are they?!"I rushed to the car and started searching every corner inside."Hayden! Olivia! Where are you?"How could you two betray me?! What is happening here?"My acting skil

A huge blast of exhaust followed after Karen pressed the button.White vapor from the liquid nitrogen wrapped around the container like Death's embrace. At that moment, the bullet comments sank into complete despair.[The end.][They're naked, and they've encountered liquid nitrogen. They'll be frozen solid in an instant. They did not even get the chance to struggle.][This is a real frozen wedding night, alright!][With one finger, his mother sent off not only her own son, but also her first love's only surviving bloodline.][That was ruthless, but why did it feel so satisfying?]I stood to the side and watched the white mist spread, and my lips formed a smile. The numbers on the temperature display plunged as if they were in free fall. In less than half a minute, the inside of the container had completely frozen.I could imagine what was happening inside. The extreme cold would have stripped them of their body heat in an instant. Their skin would have stuck to the extremel

Karen was distracted by all the flattery. She looked at the massive container, her eyes shining with greed. This was the perfect chance to make headlines! She could show off her son's talent and display her supreme status in the family simultaneously. She laughed, "Very good!"Facing the cameras, Karen adjusted the jewelry on herself and smiled widely. "I really am blessed to have such a capable son and thoughtful goddaughter... Unlike some people, who think they can order everyone around just because their family has money. She can't even have a kid and only knows how to drag others down with her."She was humiliating me in public again. In the past, I would have already snapped back, or I would have turned and left, too lazy to bother with this old woman. But today…I was not angry. Not angry at all.She waved a hand, showing off her bravado. "Since Hayden put so much thought into this, I'll host the departure ceremony for him!"The bullet comments instantly turned into wai
