Mason's POV

I dropped Blondie off at home after I took her to my haven. It felt nice to share my feelings with her, I've been bottling it up since I can remember. I'm glad to have another person in my life whom I can trust.

I laid across my bed and stared up in the ceiling. I'm happy. I didn't want to move or do anything else, I just want to savor this moment. To soak it all in, it's rare to come by this kind of happiness these days.

My phone rang and James name flashed on the screen.

"What?" I asked.

"Please tell me you're on your way because I can't take another nagging from Kevin." He said in one breath. It was noisy on the other end of the line.

Why is he asking me if I'm on my way?

"Isn't Kevin away for college?" Kevin's his older brother. He's the one that gave us our first beer, took us out on a club and lit our first cigarette. Most of the dumb shit I know, I learned from him.
