VEGA*Lyra had been in a coma now for a little over six weeks. The doctors don't understand why she hasn't woken up yet. The swelling in her brain has completely healed. Her injuries, including her arm and leg, have recovered faster than any doctors thought. Dr. Wise had gone in and taken out the screws and had put fresh casting on her arm and leg two weeks ago. He felt it would be best to keep them both in a cast for a couple more weeks. LYRA*Dr. Wise started my physical therapy the morning after I had woken up from the coma, and the last two weeks have been a whirlwind of activity. At first, my muscles were weak, and Dr. Wise tried to get me to take painkillers and muscle relaxers, but I wouldn't take them. I know how it goes with pain medication; it's so easy for someone to get addicted to them. Half of the time, I wouldn't take anything at all.
