ELI:

Tranquility was the order of the evening.

None of us spoke a word. Frosty looked outside the window the entire time and I focused on the road.

I did have a question about what her mother meant by 'work' but I wasn't going to let my curiosity deceive me anymore.

Who knew what nice thing or word might come of me? Three was enough to make my stomach churn.

A few minutes passed by and we were almost at the party venue. I could already hear the music blasting from the speakers.

"Stop here," She said, "I don't want anyone to see me with you."

Matter-of-factly, the feeling was mutual.

I rolled my eyes and stopped the car while she got out, ditching the jacket on the seat. Of course, it had my name on it. Why would she wear it?

The last thing I wanted people to think was that I had anything to do with her.

Yeah... The party. I had wanted to unwind, drink, laugh, get wild, get laid—probably.

But now, I was forced to look after Frosty. Why didn't the little demon just stay at home?

I sighed.

When I checked the time, I saw that I had already spent almost thirty minutes in the car. I reluctantly stepped out and headed toward the party. As I walked past the students, both drunk and sober, they hailed me.

Little wonder why. I was handsome, smart, and on my way to land the most prestigious scholarship. I was a star.

All I could do was smile and nod. I wasn't familiar with most of them.

I stepped inside the room, almost blinded by the flashy floating lights. My eardrums almost burst from the loud sound. No wonder I could hear it from miles away.

This was my first party in SHL and I was already liking it, save for one tiny inconvenience. Called her 'tiny' because I wasn't about to let her presence ruin the time of my life.

I located my hockey buddies. Their face lit up when they saw me, like they had been waiting for my arrival.

"Good to have you, man." The guys and I exchanged handshakes.

They sat in a lounge around a table filled with drinks of different types, cards, and party cups. I got settled beside Zayn who offered me my first drink.

"Thanks," I nodded and accepted it. Part of the happy mood was that we had been selected for the Sandario City Cup, a nationwide event that high schoolers barely made it to.

Tim, one of our teammates, stood up. He seemed a bit drunk because he was staggering a bit but also sober enough to say what was on his mind.

"With a captain like Zayn and a vice captain like Eli, I knew we were going to break the record. No high school has ever made it to the national championship, except us. You guys are the best and I'm sure you'll lead us to greater heights. Cheers." He raised his cup. We all did. And we drank to ourselves.

My plan was all coming together. I drank and although I didn't laugh hysterically, I did let out a few laughs here and there. It was remaining to get laid. As though my mind was being read, Chloe appeared from nowhere and sat beside me.

She looked beautiful, as always, in a black tank top no bra, and a pink leather skirt. She was always well put together and exuded elegance, even while drinking.

Wait, wasn't she supposed to be with Frosty?

My eyes scanned the party outside in search of her, hoping to see her reading a book or using her phone. But she was nowhere to be found. I didn't want to ask Chloe. I was avoiding every form of suspicion.

"Are you looking for someone?" She asked, tracing my gaze.

Shit! She caught me.

"I'm scared of that best friend of yours. Who knows what she might do?"

Well played, Eli.

"Oh, Rie? Don't worry about her. She won't be a problem."

As much as that sounded reassuring, it sounded equal parts problematic. Where was she and what was she up to?

I didn't have enough time to think before Chloe came up with an enticing idea. "Wanna get out of here?"

We shared a brief, knowing glance. A smile appeared on her face. She took my hand and led me upstairs, like she knew every corner of the house. Or was it her house?

By the time we found a room, her legs were already around my torso, my hands grabbing her arse, and our lips grinding against each other. She held my face, deepening the kiss, leaving us with little to no air.

"You do know this is a one-time thing, right? We're not going to have anything to do with each other after now." I said as I dropped her on the table. I pushed the chair away and stepped in between her spread legs. She was panting as much as I was.

"I know..." She replied faintly. "Please..."

We resumed kissing while I reached for her panties. After pulling them down, my fingers met her wet surface. As they brushed her clit, she moaned in my mouth.

I was rock hard, ready to push my member into her. I had already torn the condom in my pocket, ready for the next action.

But then, a fresh scent of citrus hit my nose. I could tell it wasn't Chloe for sure.

"No, no, no..." I muttered. "Not now..."

I let go of the wet, sexy girl before me and pulled up my pants.

Chloe looked confused. I was sure she had questions to ask but was too flabbergasted to say anything. I was standing up.

"You look amazing, you smell nice and all but,"

I was already at the door. I held the knob with one hand and ran the other through my hair.

"I've got to find her."

While racing down the stairs, I almost slapped my face.

I hadn't had sex in over a year and I was a starving wolf who had caught a prey but left it for one insignificant being.

I trudged around the house, looking for places a bookworm would actually hide.

Think, Eli, think!

Where would you rather be if you were introverted?

"Is there a balcony or a quiet place around here? You know, somewhere far away all the noise." I asked Zayn. I had run into him in the course of looking for Frosty.

He pointed me in the direction and I followed.

It led me straight to her. Typical bookworm.

And from what I noticed, she wasn't far from where Chloe and I just made out. No wonder I caught her scent.

She stared intently at the clear sky.

I walked toward her stealthily. I was almost touching her shoulder when I heard my name.

"Eli!" Chloe yelled.

Frosty and I turned at the same time.

"Chloe?" She first looked at her friend and then at me.

Our secrets were bound to get exposed.

Oh, shit!

ELI: It was bad enough that my father insisted I follow him to his girlfriend's place.I wanted to stay home and rest properly before it was time for the party but he had to spoil my plans. And the worst part, I couldn't do anything about it. He was my father, my provider, and everything in between. I hated myself for having to rely on such a control freak. But it was more terrible finding out Frosty was going to be my stepsister. I would rather slit my throat and die than call her 'sister'. "Honey, why don't you take a shower and come out for dinner?" Her mother said. She still hadn't broken her gaze from mine. She was as surprised as I was. Fate really hated me. A controlling father. A condescending brother. A fake would-be step-sister. It was all too much for one person. Frosty stormed out of the dining room. She probably wasn't going to come out of her room until we left, which was totally fine by me. It wasn't that I liked seeing her around. "This world is really such a sma

FRIEDA: I went to my normal hideout, where everyone avoided. The storage room was my personal space, where I hid from everyone and everything, even my books. I was exhausted and needed some sort of rest. My eyes were itchy and my body, heavy. I set up several alarms before lying down to sleep. That spot was my comfort place, where I usually lay my tired body almost every day. My bed barely saw me, especially during weekends. Not when I was either studying or—I felt a tap under my foot. Nobody had set foot in the old storage room in ages, not even the janitors. Maybe I was still dreaming. The tap came again, forcing me out of the sleep realm. My eyes were still heavy but I managed to open them. Who was it? I sat up, holding my head. It was as though it wanted to fall off due to migraine I was having. I didn't even eat before sleeping. I could only see the feet of the person who had woken me up. I couldn't lift my head properly without feeling dizzy. "Are you going to sit there a

ELI: And that was when my worst nightmare began. If I had known, I would have exchanged my number when Zayn offered. I hadn't listened to him and that was why I was now stuck with her. What was even her name again? "Mr. Rhodes, there has to be a misunderstanding here. I can't be seat or study partners with this guy," She sounded desperate. "I can't even stand him." She pleaded her case. But I guess she was right. I couldn't stand her either. Always smiling, always ready to help someone whenever they were in need, and not to mention how she studies so hard, just to impress her classmates. She didn't even need the scholarship for anything aside from proving to everyone that she was the best. She even tried to impress me when I first got here. She was desperate to make us work as friends but I wasn't ready to be in a friendship or any ship with a fake person. It was disgusting and I didn't want to spend the rest of my high school year being stuck by her side. "Isn't there any way w

FRIEDA: And that was what fueled my drive to crush him. Crush him so hard that he would never be able to rise from the dust. "The mock results are out!!" Someone yelled, making me snap out of my thoughts. "Aren't you going to check?" Chloe nudged me. I shook my head. I already knew the outcome of it. Going there would only give access to my classmates to humiliate me. "What about you?" I asked in return. "I'm good," She shrugged casually. Although Chloe was my best friend, sometimes, I envied her. She was beautiful and her parents were rich. She could go to any college that she wanted without needing to have 'perfect' grades. She just needed to be above average and she was good to go. I wished I had that kind of life. I wouldn't need to be dragging a scholarship with Eli freaking Rayes. "Do you think he'll talk to me if I approach him?" Chloe asked. I knew she was talking about Eli. I had a personal grudge against him and whatever I replied to her with would only be from a pl

  • When Fire Meets Ice   Chapter~1

FRIEDA: If there was one person I hated more than my father, it would be HIM. Eli Rayes. He was, in all senses, the bane of my existence. A thorn in my flesh that I wished to pluck out and snap in two. Not just snapping but also to throw it into the fire and watch it burn to ashes and be blown by the wind. Yes, that was how deep my hate was for him. My father had left us with nothing, nothing painful there, but Eli was trying to take away everything I had worked my entire life for. And to think that I even tried to make friends with him when he first came!! What was I even thinking? I stood afar, watching him and his clique of friends. Rather, click of ass-lickers. For some reason, he was the only significant person there. Maybe because he was the only one who wasn't saying anything stupid. He sat in the middle of the bench, one side of his earpiece fitted in his right ear and the left ear open, probably just to hear the conversations going on around him. Despite the loud nois
